I would really like to save videos from Syfy.com. Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) (RMC)
can do it, but I only have the demo version. Orbit Grab++ (V2.8.16) catches the file, but is unable to connect and download it. I have rtmpdump (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/rtmpdump-freeware-console-RTMP-downloading-application.htm), but haven't figured out how to work it properly.

If anyone could show me (using a file from Syfy.com) how to do it with Orbit, rtmpdump, or some other free method (excluding screen capture), I would really appreciate it.

Example of video:http://video.syfy.com/shows/universe/promos_trailers_4/stargate-universe--tj/v1160438

Example of what Grab++ catches:rtmp://89.149.169.23:1935/ondemand?_fcs_vhost=cp35589.edgefcs.net|ondemand?_ fcs_vhost=cp35589.edgefcs.net|nbcu/scifi/eda00608032c7e85016c79d7fb594669_0500|http://video.nbcuni.com/outlet/extensions/inext_video_player/video_player_extension.swf|http://video.syfy.com/shows/universe#/promos_trailers_4/stargate-universe--tj/v1160438&OBT_fname=eda00608032c7e85016c79d7fb594669_0500.fl v

Thanks.

Besides Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm), you can try Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) and GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm).... Oops you need a free method. Bummer.

You can try Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) itself as well as Orbit Grab Pro.

You can also try NetTransport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/NetXFer-Saving-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-streaming-to-hd.htm). It is not free, but it has a fully functional demo version which will work for 30 days.

Other than Grab++, Orbit seems unable to detect the stream.

Tried NetXFer, but was unable to make it work. It wouldn't sniff out a valid url. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

If anyone could tell me how to submit a valid connection request in Orbit, rtmpdump, NetXFer, etc., I'd be grateful.

I often use Allavsoft to download and convert Syfy Shows, Full Episodes, Movies to MP4, WMV, AVI, FLV, MOV, etc. on Mac and Windows.
