I'm having problems with rtmpsrv. I've been able to record successfully for example at livestream.com and twitch.tv but some other stream in the same site just keeps saying
ERROR: Handshake failed
Closing connection... done!
and won't give me the rtmpdump command.

I'm using Ubuntu as my OS and have set the iptables to redirect port 1935. I also have the latest version of rtmpdump.

The only thing I can think of is if the stream comes from a different port but it sounds weird since it happens in the same site.

RtmpDumpHelper with RtmpSuck or
RtmpSrv with hosts trick

RtmpDumpHelper is a Windows app so I can't use it.
The hosts trick seems to require me to edit the /etc/hosts file and add the hostname there. How can I find out the hostname since rtmpsrv and rtmpsuck don't give me any information? And why doesn't the iptables redirection work in this case?

You can search the process memory (RAM) for Flash Player, it will have the hostname in plain text.

Probably an error in the RtmpSrv code, that I dont know how to fix.
