Hello!

I would like to rip Windows Media streams with drm protection,

I haven't got a URL and I can't find it because it is playing the drm media files within an play application.

Is it possible to capture the video and sound and then remove the drm protection!

Please advise me which software to use!

Greetings!

WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) can record Windows Media streams, even if they are DRM protected. Please notice that WM Recorder can't remove DRM protection (http://undrm.info/remove-DRM-protection/).

You may also use screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/) to record anything you can see on your screen. DRM-protected videos can be recorded this way.

Hello,

I tried to record on screen with camtasia recorder; when at playback I only get a black screen. What screen capture software will work?

The "black video" phenomenon is caused by having "hardware acceleration" enabled on your PC (http://all-streaming-media.com/streaming-media-faq/faq-Windows-Media-Player-and-screen-capture-problem-black-screen.htm).

How to disable hardware acceleration:

Right click on your Windows desktop.
Select Properties in the pop-up menu.
In the Display Property window click Settings, Advanced, Troubleshoot.
Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to NONE.
Click Apply.
Click OK in the message box displayed by the video card.
Click OK to exit

Give this a try, and let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the info: recording is working fine now but with no sound! Do you need apart from the video capturing a sound ripper? Still I am using camtasia 6 and there is no 'sound pickup'

I don't really know how to set up sound in Camtasia, but Replay Video Capture (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/Replay-Video-Capture-Make-high-quality-recordings-from-anything-you-see-on-PC-screen.htm) and WM Capture (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/WM-Capture-screen-video-capture-software-that-records-with-high-quality.htm) have a universal audio driver, so they can record sound even on computers without any sound card as well as on computers that doesn't allow to listen and record at the same time.
