i think that Freecorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/FreeCorder-Toolbar-Free-sound-recorder-software-Windows.htm) freecorder doesnt save the original server files. instead it records "what you see is what you get" and "what you hear is what you get" like a screen-capturing tool.

a FREE software product by a COMMERCIAL company? How come?
i'd prefer to see Applian work harder on providing better help documentation. the help file of Applian's Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-download-and-capture-streaming-music-radio-video.htm) is really §$%&!

instead they provide support (support ticket system) and a forum at forum.applian.com, which is nice too.
but personally, i prefer a really great documentation file (help file).

None of their product has really good documentation. But that's another story.
But to be honest, the documentation of freeware tool RTMPdump (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/rtmpdump-freeware-console-RTMP-downloading-application.htm) is as worse. Not practical, not helpful.

Freecorder 4 (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/FreeCorder-Toolbar-Free-sound-recorder-software-Windows.htm) allows to copy HTTP streams from the cache of your web-browser, so it is definitely not a screen recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/).

If you have any specific questions about documentation, please ask them in the applian forum, via support ticket. If you post them here, I can forward them as well.

me too, i think that the Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) help file is far from comprehensive or detailed. i would even call it "the help file? it's nothing!".

then again they (Applian) might be doing it on purpose. the help file can be read through within a single session in the restroom -- i guess that's good. and most special Replay Media Catcher 4 techniques we learn them here on SRF when there is a problem (troubleshooting) with a particular recording case or study case.

Learning by Doing. And not 'Learning by Reading Help Files'.

And let's not forget that Applian products are priced economic. They dont cost much. So we cant expect nice, comprehensive help files. Freecorder 4 (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/FreeCorder-Toolbar-Free-sound-recorder-software-Windows.htm) is free .. so no point in complaining anyway ;)

What exactly do you want to be covered in Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) documentation?
