So basically, I'm looking to transfer files from an iPod I acquired to my computer. The problem is, because of the DRM, I cannot play anything through iTunes or anything so no program (i.e. Soundtaxi (http://undrm.info/remove-DRM-protection/SoundTaxi-Convert-DRM-protected-music-from-Windows-Media-Player-iTunes-Napster-Yahoo-Music-Rhapsody.htm) and Tunebite (http://undrm.info/remove-DRM-protection/TuneBite-Convert-DRM-protected-WMV-M4P-M4V-video-WMA-AAC-M4B-AA-music-audio-books-preserving-ID3-tags.htm)) will work.

I'm currently working with M4V files, and don't even know if the whole rip/burn technique will work (besides the fact that I don't have a DVD burner...)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Rip and burn works fine for audio files, but you need valid licenses that allow you to play your copy-protected files anyway.

Even if you don't have a CD/DVD burner you can use rip/burn technique even without Note Burner (http://undrm.info/remove-DRM-protection/NoteBurner-Convert-DRM-protected-WMA-M4P-M4A-M4B-music-files-to-plain-MP3-WAV-WMA-formats.htm):

Create an Audio CD from music files
Then instead of burning them to a blank CD, save a CD image to you hard drive.
Mount the CD Image with software like freeware Daemon Tools. It will look like you have a CD Drive with an Audio CD in it.
Rip music files from your Audio CD
Unmount the CD Image and delete the CD Image file.

As for M4V files, I repeat, you need valid licenses that allow you to play the video files to be able to remove DRM protection from the.
