hey i have windows xp media center and i tried using FairUse4WM (http://all-streaming-media.com/remove-DRM-protection/FairUse4WM-freeware-DRM-removal-Windows-software-Strip-copy-protection-from-WMV-ASF-WMA-Windows-Media-Player.htm) but when it prompted me to recover keys it failed. i then tried rolling back to wmp 10 but it said it's not compatible with my os. i had regular xp installed but when i reformatted my comp i got media center.it worked fine with xp but the os got damaged somehow. What should i do??? Help is appreciated

Have you tried fu4m13fix2 (http://all-streaming-media.com/remove-DRM-protection/FairUse4WM-freeware-DRM-removal-Windows-software-Strip-copy-protection-from-WMV-ASF-WMA-Windows-Media-Player.htm#fu4m13fix2)? It works with Windows XP, Vista x32/x64.

i just tried that and it gave me the same answer as when i tried it before- "Failure - Unable to identify RC4 and AES internal keys." when i was using fairuse last time it allowed me to select a file that was protected so it had a key? and then stripped the other files.i also went to services.wmdrm.windowsmedia.com/indivSite/en/indivit.asp and upgraded my components.

The only thing I can suggest by now is to roll back Windows media player to a previous version (http://all-streaming-media.com/faq/media-players/faq-Windows-Media-Player-Uninstall-and-roll-back-to-previous-version.htm). You may also make a fresh install of Windows XP onto Virtual PC or WMVare.
