I'm trying to remove the commercials from some TV shows recorded with MCE2005 dvr-ms files and then archive them. However, some shows show as copy protected and won't let me edit them.
Is there a way to strip the protection from the files so I can edit and archive?
Thanks for your help!

There are only 2 programs I know that can remove DRM protection from video files: FairUse4WM (http://all-streaming-media.com/remove-DRM-protection/FairUse4WM-freeware-DRM-removal-Windows-software-Strip-copy-protection-from-WMV-ASF-WMA-Windows-Media-Player.htm) and Tunebite (http://all-streaming-media.com/remove-DRM-protection/TuneBite-Convert-DRM-protected-WMV-M4P-M4V-video-WMA-AAC-M4B-AA-music-audio-books-preserving-ID3-tags.htm).
Both require playble media files with working licenses. And they doesn't seem to support DVR-MS files.
If you can play the files, the only thing I can suggest is to use a screen video capture program (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/screen-capture-software.htm). Such programs can record video from your screen. Many of them can record audio as well.
