You may use HiDownload (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/HiDownload-capturing-streaming-video-and-audio-downloading-movie-streams-record-Internet-radio.htm) or any other download manager to record these streams.

Use URL snooper or packet sniffer software (http://all-streaming-media.com/packet-sniffer/searching-for-a-stream-URL-with-packet-sniffers-and-URL-snoopers.htm) like free Project URL Snooper to find stream URLs.

The following QT streams for example can easily be captured:
http://mediaservers.vtc.com/movieplayers/get_media.php?f=entourage2004/movies/01/0101.mov&vtclogin=
http://mediaservers.vtc.com/movieplayers/get_media.php?f=entourage2004/movies/01/0102.mov&vtclogin=
http://mediaservers.vtc.com/movieplayers/get_media.php?f=entourage2004/movies/01/0103.mov&vtclogin=
http://mediaservers.vtc.com/movieplayers/get_media.php?f=entourage2004/movies/01/0104.mov&vtclogin=

Pay movies can be recorded in the same way. But you need to log into the VTC site and they will assign a temporary vtclogin=****. You will need the vtclogin when recording. The new URLs will look something like:

http://mediaservers.vtc.com/movieplayers/get_media.php?f=entourage2004/movies/01/0101.mov&vtclogin=****

Note that vtclogin is temporary so it expires very quickly. Luckily you may find the new URLs with URL snooper or packet sniffer software (http://all-streaming-media.com/packet-sniffer/searching-for-a-stream-URL-with-packet-sniffers-and-URL-snoopers.htm).

You may also use URL Macros of Offline Explorer (http://all-streaming-media/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-windows-media-and-real-video.htm#OEP) to specify a list of URLs.

For example:
http://mediaservers.vtc.com/movieplayers/get_media.php?f=entourage2004/movies/{:01..03#1}/{:#1}{:01..11}.mov&vtclogin=

http://mediaservers.vtc.com/movieplayers/get_media.php?f=entourage2004/movies/{:01..03#1}/{:#1}{:01..11}.mov&vtclogin=****

Hiya I'm so glad you seem to know how to do this but could you explain it a little better for me as I've been trying to find out how to record VTC videos for a while now. Could you please post some very simple to follow instructions. I did try doing what you said.

I logged in to VTC. Then using Project URL Snooper, I clicked SNIFF NETWORK... Then clicked a link to play a tutorial on VTC. A few URLs came into veiw, then I used the PROTOCOL FILTER to show only media URLs. But the only URL it comes up with is:

http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/resources/vtcmovieplayer_large.mov

This obviously is'nt the URL I was after... VTC seem to have their own player. My guess is its a Quicktime plugin especially for them. And this URL is something to do with that.

If I select show all URLs on the PROTOCOL FILTER it comes up with the following URL's:

http://www.vtc.com/modules/products/moviePlay.php?size=Large&foldername=logic6&sku=33439&id=30495&movieCode=0101
http://www.vtc.com
http://www.vtc.com/products/logic.htm
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/movieplayer.php?cipher=0s0c1t|poe16|eislhgni&size=Large
http://www.vtc.com/player/movieplayer.php?cipher=0s0c1t|poe16|eislhgni&size=Large
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd
http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml
http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/resources/vtcmovieplayer_large.mov
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download
http://www.vtc.com/player/scripts/cookies.js
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/resources/info.xml
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/resources/dummy.gif
http://nes.is.dtv/dtv/app/firsturl/firsturl.html
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/resources/getMedia.php?cipher=0s0c1t%7Cpoe16%7Ceislhgni&type=txt&vtclogin=
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/resources/getMedia.php?cipher=0s0c1t%7Cpoe16%7Ceislhgni&type=mov&vtclogin=

Now the top URL of that list:
http://www.vtc.com/modules/products/moviePlay.php?size=Large&foldername=logic6&sku=33439&id=30495&movieCode=0101
Does take you to the video if your in a web browser... But how do you record or download this from here??? I want to save the actual .MOV or video file to my PC and be able to play it offline.

I tried also installing HiDownload 6.8 to download the URLs. First I tried the top one as it does take you to the clip in a browser. So in HiDownload I pressed ADD, making sure GENERAL FILE DOWNLOAD was selected. I even then went to the ADVANCED tab to put in my normal VTC log in details... Then the correct referer URL from the VTC page. Then proceeded to download.

All it gave me was a 3kb file called
movieplayer[1][1][1].phpcipher=0s0c1tpoe16eislhgni&size=Large
I guess this is a PHP file which I have no knowledge of... All I know is its a secure scripting language for websites. Out of curiousity I tried renaming it, adding a .php to the end. Then loaded it in Dreamweaver. And sure enough it was web code... Thing is I dont understand it & the URL I am searching for does'nt seem to be in there.

So failing that I tried a batch download in HiDownload... This downloaded all the above URL's simultaneously. I used the same proceedure as before... Putting in my VTC login details & correct referer URL...etc

But again all I got was some small HTML & PHP stuff... except one which was a .mov file called
vtcmovieplayer_large[1][1].mov
this was 17kb in size and opened up Quicktime when clicked. However it played absolutely nothing and was obviously the file from the first URL I mentioned up near the top of this post.

So you see I am completely stuck & need some expert advise. Thanks in advance for any help you can give, I'll look forward for your reply.

You may download from the following URL, but you won't get anything useful
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/resources/vtcmovieplayer_large.mov

You may have noticed that my URLs came from
http://mediaservers.vtc.com or
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com

From your list of URLs it is easy to find out that you need the following URL
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/resources/getMedia.php?cipher=0s0c1t%7Cpoe16%7Ceislhgni&type=mov&vtclogin=

However I dunno how to get captions yet. In this case they are on the Apache server in the following folder
/usr/local/apache/vtcmovies/logic6/captions/
But they can't be downloaded from the following URL
http://mediaservers2.vtc.com/player/resources/getMedia.php?cipher=0s0c1t%7Cpoe16%7Ceislhgni&type=txt&vtclogin=

Hi,
So does this mean that even all-steaming-media.com doesn't even know how to download from vtc.com ?

I'm very interested in getting a method to do this today if at all possible. I'll even spend some money with all-streaming to buy hidownload or another product if you can verify that you can give me a process that'll work.

Very interested. I hope you can post ASAP.

Some things have really changed at VTC since the last recording session ;)

I used Net Transport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-windows-media-and-real-video.htm#NetTransport) to download from vtc with the following settings:
- Cookies enabled
- User-Agent: QuickTimeWinInet
- Course URL as a referrer URL

I dunno which of the above mentioned settingsreally required, but it works with all of them like a charm ;)

The research was done with free Proxomitron and free URL Snooper (http://all-streaming-media.com/packet-sniffer/Project-URL-Snooper-Find-the-actual-stream-URL-Free-download.htm).

I'm having the same problem as everyone else it looks like. But I'm afraid I do not know how to use the netransport. I've been trying to save the videos all night(s) and still getting nowhere. I've used url snooper to locate the URL. I need to save...
http://www.vtc.com/modules/products/moviePlay.php?size=Large&foldername=3dsmax7&sku=33618&id=46260&movieCode=0101&movieName=About+This+TutorialBut I can't seem to get it. Any ideas?
I seem to have the same problem. I can't find the URL anymore. I've tried URL Snooper, URL Helper and even tried to find any useful info in the packets with Analyzer, but I had no any luck.

Proxomitron log showed the following

+++GET 7+++
GET /player/resources/07|0a61||||3d411x0||3m2s3|6s68b&type=mov&vtclogin= HTTP/1.0
User-Agent: QuickTimeWinInet

Connection: keep-alive
Browser reload detected...
But I get 404 error when trying to download the following URL with NetTransport:
http://mediaserverslow.vtc.com/player/resources/07|0a61||||3d411x0||3m2s3|6s68b&type=mov&vtclogin=ATM I don't see any way to record videos from VTC except by

Restoring deleted VTC videos from user's Temp folder when using QuickTime 6.4
Screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/screen-capture-software.htm).

p.s. You may try to find the URL with Proxomitron and download it with NetTransport. Please let me know if it works for you.
