http://ondemand.livesets.com/

But the downloaded files do really sound destroyed, as if something is disturbing the file. Does anyone know a solutions for this problem?

I haven't seen any MP3 files streamed though MMS or RTSP protocol. MMS protocol is used to stream Windows Media files. Just rename your recorded .MP3 files to .WMA files and you shouldn't have any problem playing them.

Thanks for your answer. But those are really 192kbps MP3-files, don't have a clue why I do have such problems with the files. You can actually hear the actual track at the downloaded files, but it's very distorted.

Free sound editor Audacity (http://all-streaming-media.com/edit-audio-video/Audacity-free-sound-editor-Windows-Linux-MacOSX.htm) supports MP3 files, but doesn't support WMA files so you may try to open your recordings with it.

I don't have any problem playing these Windows Media files after renaming them.

Ok, you're right, it works by renaming. The thing that made me curious is, that by right clicking on properties on the file while it is streaming, even Windows Media Player tells it is an MPEG Layer 3 file.

Actually this program is obviously not for me. It can only "record". I don't want to record I want to download.

There is no universally recognized term for stream recording, but you shoudn't be afraid of the word record here. WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) either downloads the stream or captures packets from Windows Media Player, but you do not lose any quality anyway. WM Recorder can't record from the sound card!

p.s. It seems that I was the first one to trying to separate recording from ripping and downloading, but still I often do not follow this conception.

Oh, I thought it recorded from the sound card. Yes, I managed to get it to capture packets from Windows Media Player but I did not manage to download the stream with it or with the other two programs (HiDownload and NetTransport). In one of the programs' logs it says something about encryption (NTL or something)? Anyway I appreciate your help all this time.

I got the url with URL Snooper2, mms://media.livesets.com/ONDEMAND-25646876112/Cristian Varela vs Pepo at Audio Link on LiveSets Radio

And then I put this URL in WM Recorder (in URL mode) in the URL textbox. And then it tries to download (and changes a few protocols) but doesn't work and then the status just reads CANCELLED.

I got this link with WM Recorder and tried to input it to HiDownload and Orbit but they don't download it correctly, they get a 1Kb .wax file or something. I can record in WM Recorder in the PRO mode, but the I have to wait until the end of every set. Therefore, I'm asking if it's possible to download this, because of the speed.

I feel that we could have solved this sooner if you had pointed out before that a) stream URLs expire very quickly, and b) the need to change the http:// to mms:// and use NetTransport. Anyway, I think we just created a great reference for people that want to download from livesets.com and I know there are a lot of them. Thanks.
