I used to be able to copy HB0 CM@x shows (that I pay for) and burn them to DVD but I can not even copy them now using Win MCE. Message says copy protected. Any work around?

Does these shows come in HD quality?

Do you have a strong signal? Is your antenna good enough?

Copy Protection at Dish Network / Thursday June 07 2007

We have made changes to our content protection policies that may impact your access to move some HBO and Cinemax events to your PocketDISH. Once these events are moved to your PocketDISH, they will no longer be available to view from your hard drive on your receiver. If these policies apply to the content you wish to copy, you will be advised by a pop-up at the time of download. Please go to Dish Network and search Copy Protection for more information.

Valid receiver models: 311, 322, 351, 381, 501/508/510, 811, 2800

No they are not HiDef. All my settings and strengths are good. Must be the CGMSA copy protection. I can not record to my Hard Drive at all so I can not transfer to mpg or anything else. I was just looking for a DRM work around to be able to copy shows and transfer to DVD later. Thanks for your help.

To remove DRM protection you need playable files are needed. If you can't play them on your computer you can use screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/screen-capture-software.htm) only.

Do you have a PC card or a stand-alone receiver?

My problem is MS MCE will not let me record the show at all. It stops recording about 1 min into the show and states that it is copy protected, so I can not even try to play it, because I can not record it. I know their are programs that will transcode a WMCE program to mpeg so it should play but I can not get to this point. Any devices that will allow me to record ?

The only thing I can suggest is to use a screen video capture program (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/screen-capture-software.htm). Such programs can record video from your screen. Many of them can record audio as well.

Try freeware screen capture program CamStudio (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/CamStudio-freeware-Windows-Free-video-screen-capture-software-supporting-audio-recording.htm).

If you don't like it there are two other choices I can recommend:
TechSmith SnagIt and Camtasia (Camtasia is very good, but very expensive)
Replay Screencast (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Screencast-one-click-screen-capturing-software.htm) - not the most powerful software I have ever seen, but it is very easy to use.
