To record audio streams from MySpace you may use free RTMP recorder - MySpace MP3 Gopher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/MySpace-MP3-Gopher-freeware-Windows-stream-recorder-Download-mp3-files-from-MySpace-streamed-through-RTMP-and-HTTP.htm). It can record RTMP .MP3 audio streaming only.

The only stream recorder/ripper that can capture flash video and MP3 audio stream (from embedded macromedia flash player) through the RTMP protocol is Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm).

Of course you can record RTMP audio stream with Direct sound recording software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/direct-sound-recording.htm) like free sound editor Audacity (http://all-streaming-media.com/edit-audio-video/Audacity-free-sound-editor-Windows-Linux-MacOSX.htm) and record RTMP video streams from embedded flash player using Screen capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/screen-capture-software.htm), but with Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) you can save such streams without any quality loss. Besides Replay Media Catcher is very easy to use. All you have to do to record with it is to press "Start recording".

There are lots of direct sound recording programs. You may use free Audacity or free HardDiskOGG for example.

But there is a very unique software called Replay Music (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/Replay-Music-record-any-web-radio-station-or-streaming-music-service.htm) that you may also wanna try for free. It is the only program that can split songs and tag them automatically when recording from sources like web radio stations, online music subscription services.

I'm also trying to download video in flash streaming, and I'm becoming crazy, because I can't find a program or a tutorial!
I used NetTransport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-windows-media-and-real-video.htm#NetTransport) to download Windows Media video, but with flash streaming videos I can neither see the exact URL from the file properties!

For example, I want to download this:

http://www.zeds.ca/go?c=ZedCandidCashback"]http://www.zeds.ca/go?c=ZedCandidCashback

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

RTMP protocol .FLV FLASH video files can be recorded with unique software called Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm). There is no other stream recorder I know that supports the RTMP protocol.

HTTP .FLV streams can easily be recorded (unlike RTMP .FLV streams). Please read the following thread for more

I'm very new to this and I use wm recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/streaming-video-recording-wmrecorder.htm)and hidownload (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/HiDownload-capturing-streaming-video-and-audio-downloading-movie-streams-record-Internet-radio.htm)to download files. I don't know what RTMP protocol is. I wanted to download something from this site http://www.eonline.com/thevine/player.jsp
Does this site use RTMP protocol?

General flash video recording
URLs starting with rtmp:// like in the following example:
rtmp://somehost.com/somedir/somefile.flv
use RTMP protocol to stream flash video .flv files. As you can see you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that ;)

When recording any stream you usually start with a URL finder software (http://all-streaming-media.com/find-stream-URL/) even if it is built-in into a stream recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/all-streaming-video-recording-software.htm) like Replay A/V (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-AV-capture-Streaming-Video-Audio-Radio-Shows-Online-TV-Broadcasts-Video-Clips-Audio-Archives-Podcasts-Free-to-try.htm) or Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm).
'coz you already have a couple of stream recorders, I suggest you to use free URL finder software (http://all-streaming-media.com/find-stream-URL/) called URL Snooper (http://all-streaming-media.com/packet-sniffer/Project-URL-Snooper-Find-the-actual-stream-URL-Free-download.htm).

When getting flash URLs try to find ".flv", ".swf", "rtmp://" in the URL.

Recording flash video from eonline
The web-site you have mentioned seems not to be using HTTP or HTTPS.
Although after disabling TCP connections via port 1935, TheVine player connects via HTTP port 80. You can see server POST and GET requests with Proxomitron, but I doubt that you can get any useful information from it.

The following string was mentioned in the POST data

rtmpt://194.25.136.17:80/ondemand?_fcs_vhost=cp21999.edgefcs.net
so TheVine supposedly uses the RTMPT protocol (RTMP through TCP). The URL Snooper can find such URLs if you add "rtmp;.flv" to the "Also search for" textbox.

Although theVine @eOnline developer claimed to use Akamai (FCS1.7 server) I can't watch it. The video keeps loading and loading for an eon.

You can save the stream with unique stream ripper called Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm). If you don't mind to lose some quality you may record any streaming video with screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/screen-capture-software.htm), but of course stream ripper software gives much better results.

I was thinking: with programs like Snag-it I can record only the video, right?
While the audio must be recorded separately and syncronized, right?
Right, right, right!

Screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/screen-capture-software.htm) like SnagIt or Replay Screencast can record video from screen as well as audio from your sound card simultaneously. You don't have to syncronize anything. Even free ZD Soft Screen Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/ZD-Soft-Screen-Recorder-freeware-Windows-Free-video-screen-capture-software-supporting-audio-recording.htm) supports audio recording.

if you read the 'myspace mp3 gopher' Author's blog, you find out that he is working on making rtmp download for all sites...

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=133832433&blogID=214755424&MyToken=5eb51ed4-1342-45fc-a7e3-59a3ebc4c6ee

As I have told many people in response messages here at MySpace... The new software is finished... The reason it is taking so long to release is that it is going to work on more sites than just MySpace. I received a lot of messages asking if I could make it work on sites other than MySpace, so, I did that. Me and a group of people are testing the hell out of the software and clearing bugs... so you don't have to.

Keep checking back, it will be worth it....

Thanks!

-andy.

At least 3 teams are working on the RTMP Flash stream ripper/recorder. First test of an early beta version of one of the RTMP recorders worked fine for me. Hopefully the software will be released to the public very soon. Stay tuned...

Hi "Stream Recorder",

I believe it was you that replied to my post earlier, with regards to a similar problem I had with d'loading / capturing from "Musicmatch" which also uses the RTMP protocol.

Thanks for the info, and can you please keep us updated, once this ripper / recorder becomes available please ?

Thanks... Sean !!!

You're welcome!

It's my duty to tell everyone once the Flash video RTMP ripper/recorder is available. And it's my pleasure ;)

I am so excited to hear that someone is working on a way to save these RTMP videos. I have all these videos lined up that I'm hoping to be able to save before they go away (it's a news site, they only hang onto stuff for a short time.)

Any update on when it might be released? Can you give us an idea of how it will work, like will you have to put in a url to save it or will it more so sniff out the urls for you?

Finely you may use Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) to record HTTP/RTMP streaming flash .FLV videos.

It is very easy to use. Just hit "Start Recording" to record and everything will be saved to hd automatically.

Hi,

I know there are many other ways to record or save streaming video/flash videos. If you prefer recording the movie screen other than find the source and save it, try screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/screen-capture-software.htm)

Happy recording :)
