Hello,

There is a German soap opera that has been running for decades and that recently (only weeks ago) switched from wmv and realplayer movie links to Flash.

Trying to download such flash videos nothing seems to work: no orbitdownloader and no replay media catcher (well, the latter worked at the beginning, but doesn't any longer).

I am not really that interested in those TV series but see it more like a challenge, my intention is to be able to download it, but I wouldn't distribute it.

Of course, a screen capture software works, but is anyone of you willing to take the challenge and try to download an episode of this soap?

I must say, I do love a good challenge. I did try this with WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) and Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) and I was NOT able to record this using either of those two. It's quite possible that they just encoded their stream in a way that makes it un-recordable by RTMP capturing software. I'm a bit busy at the moment to try using other software, but I will look at this and try tomorrow. Until then, A screen capture program might be the best thing to use at this point.

The first link only downloads a file of 56916 bytes, the second link doesn't work at all.

So since you mention those links, I would suppose, they worked for you?
