Hi... I am looking for a good camera in the A$500 - A$800 price bracket to use for live webcasts. i have tried a Sony DCR-SX40 which is the quality and price range i am looking at BUT it won't act as a 'Webcam' so therefore can't be used for live broadcasting.
Any suggestions appreciated

IMHO you shouldn't use a video camera or a photo camera as a web-cam. Web-cams are built to work continuously for a long time, so you should get a decent web-cam instead.
It is a good idea to use a video camera to get better quality videos. And I myself would really like to know how to make a live broadcast using a video camera.

Hi,
I am fond of the Cannon BU-45-H camera! It is small and compact. It has a 20:1 zoom lens. It has the sufficient ability to zoom-in for the close-ups. It provides dramatic HD shots and angles.
Good Luck!
