I am just getting started with this. Here is a URL with a short embedded video. I don't know what protocol is used, but it's using the flash player:

I have tried installing two free video capture applications: Orbit downloader and Coojah. Neither of them detected the video. Do you have any suggestions? Would it work with one of the ones I have to pay for?

thanks in advance,
John

What a bad software you have used!!:D

The protocol is rtmp. Nowadays many softwares are supporting rtmp protocol!!

For downloading that I suggest you: IDM (http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/download.html), Stream Transport (http://www.streamtransport.com/) and RTMPexplorer (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/RTMPExplorer-freeware-GUI-for-rtmpsrv-Windows.htm) !!!;)
