View Full Version : Question - Need Help with FairUse, unable to get key error! (IBX 11.0.6000.6324)

Here is what im trying to do with no success.
I'm trying to use fair use (and fair use commander) which i now have on cd thanks to whoever told me about it here

here is my problem:
went to a different provider and they now require windows media player 11.

purchased a cd that i wanted and downloaded it.
tried to copy it on to fair use (for burning, etc even though it's not near cd quality)

and got some sort of error message

unable to get key/will not support windows media player 11 or something to that effect.

so basically, im screwed.

please note: the songs play on winamp with no problem!

are there any other (FREE) methods that will work? i don't care about converting just stripping the drm crap.

i can use software i have here to convert to mp3

(windows vista)

Please post the exact error message. "Some sort of error message" may not help us to answer your question.

Do you use fu4m 1.3 fix-2 (http://undrm.info/remove-DRM-protection/FairUse4WM-freeware-DRM-removal-Windows-software-Strip-copy-protection-from-WMV-ASF-WMA-Windows-Media-Player.htm#fu4m13fix2)?

Have you tried freeme2 (http://undrm.info/remove-DRM-protection/freeme2-freeware-lossless-DRM-remover-for-Windows-Media-WMV-WMA-files.htm)?

Yes i have it didn't work.

I'll have to use it on Rhap. It worked great on Yahoo (which is no more)
"unable to get keys" and "no support for WMA 11" or something to that effect.

here it is: this is the latest version.

IBX Version 11.0.6000.6324 isn't supported yet.

do i need to start a new thread or should i give up and quit? looks like back to using paid software which really sucks.

that seems very complex. will this problem be fixed in future updates of fair use?

all i know is this worked beautifully on napster, now on rhap. it's not working!! i even burned a cd of fair use comm.

now, it's useless.

i'm still looking at options.
(free.. not pay)
