When I use Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) my firewall asks whether to allow genpuid.exe to access the Internet.

What is genpuid.exe? Is it safe to allow it to access Internet?

genpuid.exe is a part of the music/song/track identification made by Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm).

You should allow genpuid.exe to access Internet if you want music/song/track identification to work.

According to Jeff Lenney, Technical Support, Applian Technologies, Inc. (makers of RMC) (http://forum.applian.com/showthread.php?t=640):

"It's very safe, and it is part of the music/song/track identifier as mentioned previously. Please allow that file and know that it's 100% safe."

Can't get a better source than applian on that. :-)

I was about to quote Jeff's answer myself but you beat me to it!
