View Full Version : Problem with Flash embedded audio

Peter Gabriel has recently done a "re-mix" contest using his released masters for FREE download. This is fantastic in ways I won't begin to go into, but anyway, the resulting remixes are available on Real World, some of which are interesting. Here's one example url:

http://www.realworldremixed.com/remix.php?remix_id=tVH4zACz2IXOB7lH

I have figured out the actual url, and it downloads an embedded .swf player to stream the audio. Here it is:

http://www.realworldremixed.com/remix_track_player.swf?remix_id=tVH4zACz2IXOB7lH

This is using some transport stream I can't identify, and after downloading and trying about 10 different flash-getters, they all fail miserably to capture the secondary stream, even the ones like WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) and Replay A/V (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-AV-capture-Streaming-Video-Audio-Radio-Shows-Online-TV-Broadcasts-Video-Clips-Audio-Archives-Podcasts-Free-to-try.htm).

I even tried looking at the traffic using URLSnooper2 and it's not identified as an RTMP stream.

As you can see, I've done my homework and read the forums, but this one is really torquing my shorts!

Proxomitron revealed real URL:
http://www.realworldremixed.com/remix_track.php?remix_id=tVH4zACz2IXOB7lH

Rename to 1698_GroovEEMonkEE.mp3 after downloading with any download manager (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/download-managers-with-streaming-media-downloading-support.htm). Or just right click on the above mentioned URL and select "Save target as...".

Enjoy!

Good Show! I remember Proxomitron, it's been years since I've played with it. I'll have to hunt up a current copy, as there are several other tracks there I'd like to get. Thank you for the quick response!

BTW, you may want to update your "Find hidden stream URLs " FAQ page to add Proxomitron, perhaps.

Again, Well Done, and Thanks!

There is no official web-site of Proxomitron, but I'll try to add it somehow.

The newest version of Replay A/V (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-AV-capture-Streaming-Video-Audio-Radio-Shows-Online-TV-Broadcasts-Video-Clips-Audio-Archives-Podcasts-Free-to-try.htm) that is about to be released shouldn't have any problem finding URLs from this web-site.
