I have installed Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) on my second computer. Although I can perfectly download Hulu videos with my laptop, I can't download anything from Hulu on my second PC. I've tried to disable my firewall, antivirus, but nothing helps.

As of January 28, 2009, any newly installed copy of Replay Media Catcher does not support Adobe Secure RTMP Measures. (http://www.applian.com/replay-media-catcher/support/secure-rtmp-measures.php)

Unfortunately, as I've pointed out previously in another thread here, "newly installed" also means newly updated. And, by program default, RMC automatically updates unless the user has unticked this setting previously.

And, using the old plug-in (if you have it) won't make any difference because any site using the new Adobe RTMP cannot be captured with RMC new or old.

you must wrong.
i can capture rtmpe stream now without using fmrms (Flash Media Rights Management Server).

To make it clear, Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) can capture new Adobe RTMP streams, but it doesn't support Adobe security measures (RTMPE).

I know it.
But my RMC3.0.1(plugin_zrtmp.dll version 5.2.6.9) can record RTMP/RTMPE.
To say more my RMC can record some of RTMP(not RTMPE) with SWF Auth stream.for example comedy central.

I don't know why my RMC can it.

Hi, I discovered the problem, Replay media Catcher 3.02 have the 5.3.6.9 version of plugin_zrtmp.dll that version allow to download rtmp and rtmpe content the problem is that replay media catcher 3.01 every time it start it downloads de 5.2.6.9 and replaces the new one.

So, what I Did is disconnect or disable the connection while starting the program so it cant update that plugin and then I reconnect it.

So far it have worked like a charm, here is the link to de 5.3.6.9 plugin, its a 1MB rapidshare file it contents the plugin la 80Kb and the rest is just a big image file, this is so I can get some rapidshare points, so please support me.

I'm a little bit confused. I use Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) 3.0.2 and plugin_zrtmp.dll 5.3.6.9. I just tried to download the following stream from Hulu

and I got the following error:

Are you using a legal version of replaymedia catcher? because if yo downloaded the 3.02 and you patched it with de 3.01 patch it wont work, I had exactly the sameerror message when downloading video from formula1.com, but with the 3.01 installed with the plugin from of the 3.02 it works fine

Hi tequeterequeteque,
Previously I was using your method (by replacing the plugin_zrtmp), and it works fine for downloading video from formula1.com.
But when I just reinstall RMC 3.01 yesterday and recopy the old plugin_zrtmp. It doesn't work any more.
The RMC doesn't seems downloading anything.
Is it possible for you to send me the whole list of "old plugins" to try.

Is my own mistake. I accidentally deleted the ahook.dll causing RCM not recording...

Now is working fine. pls ignore my previous message.

Of course I use a legal version of Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm). I just didn't understand at first that I needed RMC v.3.0.1 and the plug-in from the v.3.0.2.

p.s. It is really interesting that some streams are recorded better with RMC 3.0.1 and some others with RMC 3.0.2 when using plugin_zrtmp.dll version 5.3.6.9.

GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm) does a good job downloading the first 10MB of a Hulu video, then stops. Since it's being advertised by the publisher as a "fully functional" trial version, they are either being deceptive, or the program is useless for files larger than 10MB. In either case, $39.95 seems awfully steep for a program that could stop working at any time if Hulu changes their protection scheme, especially after having that very experience with Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm).

1. I have ordered GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm). It can download whole hulu video very well.

Unfortunately only screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/) can guarantee you that you can record content no matter what streaming protocol, format or authentication is used.

I got excited about this for a minute, but unfortunatley while jaksta does work, neither WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) or Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) were able to record the hulu videos I tested. Looks like your best bet is still Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) or screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/).

I have followed all the steps described in the following thread
How do you use rtmp dump?
to download this stream from Hulu:
http://www.hulu.com/watch/48096/the-three-stooges-collection-tassels-in-the-air
The decompressed filesize is: 1147447 bytes.
The hash is :811b9cc694f0bcd141e59d026ad022433bd3b17c08482f3bb 2abf8b47bca79d2.

By using Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm), I chose this stream to download using RTMPDUMP: rtmp://cp51756.hulu.com/ondemand/?auth=daEahdQaWbqaMd8dNaJcDacc_ahdqcrbOaM-bkBLtv-c0-3qHBzDtYIAm&aifp=NS20070910&slist=content/43829/12/1002/HuluTranscode_55220_49984_FLASH_700K_4x3_23_976__Y PcPmrAE20WvgRJo0cvwuQ;.international=false<break>content/43829/12/1002/HuluTranscode_55220_49984_FLASH_700K_4x3_23_976__Y PcPmrAE20WvgRJo0cvwuQ

The download file is: HuluTranscode_55220_49984_FLASH_700K_4x3_23_976__Y PcPmrAE20WvgRJo0cvwuQ.flv.

Now, I have to sort all of this out and try to assemble the correct info string to use with rtmpdump. I am stuck at this point, I know this is a RTMPE stream. I also know that
from the playerswf.swf information I get
http://www.hulu.com/player.swf
and this part needs to be part of the info string. If any member has come up with the right way to assemble the info string to download this stream using RTMPE, we all will be very thankful. Thanks in advance.

All hulu content is now protected using SWF Verification (a copy protection mechanism) and it is therefore illegal to download it even for personal use.

I would recommend using a product like Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) on fancast.com that provides Hulu content but still provides streams that are not copy protected.

None of the Hulu capture programs I've tried works at all. They all say the capture FLV file or can somehow get the true URL from Hulu. Not in my experience. Yes, if the URL ends in FLV as it does on most sites. However all Hulu video URL's end in "PSA". and so far not even a program that calls itself Hulu downloader has been able to record it! Real Player only download the HTML target not the FLV file. I end up with nothing downloaded except the link to the page it was on. useless!

Hulu goes to a lot of effort to hide their true rtmpe URLs, but all of that has been broken. (See here http://stream-recorder.com/forum/showpost.php?p=14890&postcount=3 )

However, even after you get the URL, very few programs are able to actually retrieve anything from it. Hulu's FlashMedia Servers are now using extra encryption in their handshake, and only Adobe Flash Player 10.0.32 or newer can provide the proper handshake. Not only that, but the encryption code is only present in the *32 bit* version of the player on Windows and Linux. The 64 bit Linux player doesn't work. Adobe seems to forget that there's more to the world than 32 bit x86, despite all their Open Screen BS. (The Solaris x86 player doesn't work with Hulu either. When it comes to openness, Adobe is all talk, and no show.)

If one can't find any Hulu downloaders, recording from Hulu still can be done with screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/) .

Not a big problem. HTML 5 is an open standard and it allows to show videos without any proprietary software from Adobe. We don't need Adobe to support x64 systems, Linux, Mac OS, iPhone OS,... anymore. Flash should become extinct instead (as well as many other proprietary formats and protocols).

##Hulu's FlashMedia Servers are now using extra encryption in their handshake,

It has only a little effect.
The investment becomes useless cost.
Their original encryption process has already been analyzed.
I'd like to suggest Hulu dev-team to use FMRMS.

Indeed, it doesn't prevent random users from getting at any content they really want, since pretty much everyone has access to a WindowsXP machine. But it's certainly an inconvenience, and it's unnecessarily alienating their audience on other platforms.
