I bought a new PNY USB flash drive that had a free Sony movie download with it. I just presumed I would be able to put it on the flash drive and move it to my dvd/vcr recorder in another room where my 62 year old eyes could watch it on tv rather than my 13 inch monitor.

I can't. I thought I had gotten it but when I put it in the dvd player it said 'no files'.

It does say under license, 'protected'. I presume that is why. I have the PNY Player I had to download. I can also watch it on Windows Media 11 (which has all it's updates). I have Nero I could install if that would help any.

Or I could burn it to a dvd instead. I've never used 'command line' for anything. I'd be leery to try that.

Does this mean I'm just out of luck? Or is there a more straight forward method? Thank you for any suggestions or detailed instructions.......jennifer

You can try to remove DRM protection, for example try the following freeware lossless software:

Then convert to the format that your DVD/VCR recorder supports.

Alternatively you can re-record your video from screen using screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/).

Or if you graphics card has a TV out, you can use it to connect to your TV.
