Windows 7 Home Premium, Firefox 7.

I record long sessions of the above footage, then skip thru with an editor and extract "interesting behaviours", upload to YouTube and post on the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) website. Am having to screen capture using
Debut (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/Debut-freeware-video-capture-software.htm) (very easy to use, I'll say that for it) because I can't record the stream like I could with the RSPB's own wildlife cams.

I have bought Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) but it only records a few seconds, when it records at all. I can't get support from them as logs won't load on their website.

I wonder if a guru would kindly test the site and tell me if there's any chance of recording the stream, and if so, what with.

Many thanks,

clemenzina

Thank you KSV. None of that means anything to me, but I presume the ERROR near the bottom means that there's... an error  but it says Starting Live Stream after that

Do I take it that Jaksta was a waste of money in my case?

it means you can easily download that stream with free tools.

In your first response "RTMPDump v2.4" in the panel - does that mean that that's a program you recommend? I'll have a look for it.

Have you tried to contact them without providing your logs? Were they able to replicate your problem?

Also you can always upload logs to some file sharing web-sites like mediafire and include the link into your support request.

Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) will only allow contact via logs, from what I can see. You write a message describing your problem but you have to perform an "exercise" with the program, including downloading a YouTube video that you don't already have in browser cache, whether or not it's related to your problem; then a log file is placed on desktop, after which you get a message to upload it.

I've tried umpteen times but the page won't load.

I'm so confused and fed up. It was so easy with VLC, I was in a fool's paradise

I've downloaded RtmpDump.zip and extracted that, double-clicked on rtmpdump (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/rtmpdump-freeware-console-RTMP-downloading-application.htm).exe and it also required extracting and produced exactly the same group of files again  What do I execute in order to install it in a usable state?

I don't really now what you mean to "contact via logs".

The following page allows to contact the Jaksta for Windows support:
https://secure.jaksta.com/help/index.php?pid=newticket&user=&department=69
The only required fields are email, name, message, windows version, priority.

What page are you trying to load? And what kind of problem exactly do you have with this page?

According to the instructions you have to run Jaksta in Debug Mode in order to get a support ticket, and you have to upload the resulting log file with your email. I have 6 log files on desktop from repeated attempts but have never been able to upload.

:(

I don't suppose Malwarebytes could be blocking? But surely it would tell me. I added the Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) program to its ignore list, that didn't make any difference.

Funny, but I thought it was working fine when I had the trial program, but as soon as I paid... Maybe I didn't test it on the relevant site, can't remember now.

Thank you for your time and thoughts, both of you :)

You can upload your logs to some file sharing web-site. I will re-send them to the developer.

Forwarded your message already, and the developer of Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) was able to record other web-cams from this site. The cam from your link was offline.

There was a power cut in Jo'burg last night so the stream was down. It didn't stop me getting this this morning:

UOh9-VYQpg8

The stream deteriorated a couple of weeks ago and hasn't really recovered 100%. You can see that quality is not the issue therefore, it's being able to record 100% and do other things at the same time.

You are so kind to do all that for me - I'm a bit "frail" (in the head, you may say :p ) so I've got to have a rest before I respond to your info, will be back later.

Thanks a lot!

clemenzina :)
