Working thx,
I'm using VLC as the player sometimes the playback is choppy though buffering every 3-5 seconds, my dl rate is around 800kB/s.
Datarate of a h264 mp4 recording shows 717kB/s video 62kB/s audio
is their anything I can so it caches/dls a few seconds before it actually plays so the playback is smooth?

Hi,

you get much better results if you do use MPC-HC player for streaming.The player is quicker and can play streams more liquid than VLC.

What do you mean about the download?I see no problems with playing & downloading at same time.

I meant my bandwidth is only 800kB/s but this broadcasts at 780kB/s so sometmies it buffers when my speed drops so I need it to cache a few seconds before it starts playing so it isn't playing catchup.

I tried mpc-hc as you suggestion seems to be working without any issues noticed any buffering like vlc, only downside it doesn't have a record button like vlc, I saw another version called mpc-be too :confused:

Just use MPC-HC for watching and execute a bat file to record (download) directly the original flv stream data with rtmpdump.Its better than to use VLC rec mode what only recs what you see on the screen + buffer / hang problem you have later in the video.

I can't get this to work with Kodi v16.1 for Android,
it keeps showing a rampantTV message instead,
maybe it's picking up the user agent as Kodi or Android :confused:

I'm using the following in a .strm file

Managed to get it working on Kodi for Android :D
you have to add flashVer before swfUrl, you also have to replace spaces with \20 so

flashVer=WIN 22,0,0,209

becomes

flashVer=WIN\2022,0,0,209

some small oddity to do with librtmp vs rtmpdump :eek:
