When I download from certain streaming sites, Jaksta shuts off at between about 55 and 65 MB. If I hit Reprocess, it starts right back up again (with the web browser closed) and runs until the 55-65 point and shuts off. I tried the RTMP tweak to automatically resume when the connection is dropped (under the tool/settings section), but that does nothing. Some sites, Jaksta will download for hours without stopping. These downloads are being done after my web browser is closed. I suspect it probably has something to do with the web site timing me, but it is never the same exact time and what's with Jaksta's automatically resume function when it does nothing? Any ideas?

Can you please provide me with the URL of the audio or video you're trying to record, so I can trouble shoot the issue?

"Certain Sites" doesn't help in this situation :-)

www.liveadams.com or any of the other sites with the same model selection. I tried it again today before posting by choosing random models and I got file sizes of 41, 44, 51 and 46 MB before Jaksta stopped downloading and needed to be "Reprocessed". I'm not talking about shutting off when the model goes private, but when she stays in free chat.

Member benefits - Unlimited FREE video chat access
Downloading (RTMP) - 50626 KB (00:07:39 / Live stream

I thought if I closed my browser after Jaksta connects, the site would show my guest ID as having left the room, or does Jaksta keep my guest ID showing as a guest in the room?

Thats hard to say as the I'm not the programmer, nor is he active on this board. I am testing it now however and am up to 60seconds with no problem yet. Whats the longest you're able to record time wise, just the 8 minutes?

I selected a model, started Jaksta, and then closed my browser. The first time it stopped at 8 minutes, then I hit the "Reprocess" for 5 more times and got these: 7:00, 7:40, 7:30, 7:40, and 7:40 minutes. All recordings were for the same model. If the website is timing me, why won't Jaksta restart automatically after each time out when I can manually do it with no problem. I like to set up the recording and then go do other stuff and come back later to watch and fast forward through the boring stuff.

Hard to say - i'll see if I can shoot him an email and ask :)

Alrighty, The site allows only 8 minutes for free chat as blader has stated.

If the user is not logged in as a member then the connection details Jaksta detects which are then played back to the server will mean it is cut off as per the sites conditions. Its a guest connection after all.

The connection details for a logged in member would be different and presumably no guest time limit would be placed on the stream.

Hope this helps!

Hi -- I seem to be having a similar problem.

I participated in a web series called BECKINFIELD. I recently learned that the site may shut down soon. My computer, which previously had all my videos, crashed a while back. So this is my last chance to retrieve any of those files.

The site's administrators have never figured out how to let users download videos. And since the videos were not hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, etc., but on the specific site, normal downloaders like Keepvid don't work for me.

I downloaded Jaksta at a friend's suggestion. It downloads part of each video, but then stops about one to two minutes before the end of each video.

It also makes two copies of each video (that is, two files with the same name), but only one of them plays properly.

I have tried multiple videos with the same result.

A Google search about my problem led me to this forum.

Here is the site with our videos:

Can someone please help? Thanks in advance!

If you are talking about the short videos that appear when I go to your link, I used Jaksta and selected the video entitled "I went into the hole under the soccer field" and it downloaded completely with just one copy. Do you have a Trial Version of Jaksta? If so, they use to have a time limit on how long they would record in order to get you to buy the registered version. If you are trying to download bigger files than those previewed on the first page of your link, post a direct link to the longer video and I'll see if I can download it.

Ah. Yes, that's it. Thank you so much! :) I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for a fully functional freeware.
