I've been a long time reader on this message board.

Many of you are very smart with computers.. I like to call you computer savvy.


I have been trying to remove DRM files on Wma songs for a loong time now.

I have Windows Vista and Fairuse for that Vista WMP 11, but I can never find any keys.

I know how to do everything after the keys because I've done it on my Windows XP computer.. but I can't figure out how to do this on my Vista.

I probably sound like a noob.. and If I were you I wouldn't want to help because I'm sure this answer is posted somewhere around here.. but if you could help me, it would really make my day.

Make sure you use the latest version of fairuse4wm, namely fu4m 1.3 fix-2 (http://undrm.info/remove-DRM-protection/FairUse4WM-freeware-DRM-removal-Windows-software-Strip-copy-protection-from-WMV-ASF-WMA-Windows-Media-Player.htm#fu4m13fix2).

You might need to downgrade your Windows Media Player.

You can also install Windows XP onto a virtual machine like VMWare and MS Virtual PC.

Please be more specific in your requests: describe what you do and what errors you have.

Okay, I have WMP 11 on my Vista.

I think that Fairuse program that you sent me is good for WMP 11 right?

When I load mirakagi.exe, I can never find any of the "keys" that its supposed to be looking for.

What IBX version do you have? Is it supported by mirakagi? If not, have you tried to downgrade your WMP?

how do you get WMP 10 on Vista?

You can't roll back WMP 11 on a Vista because it comes with WMP 11

I tired installing WMP 10, but it didn't work.

The version of the IBK was the 11.0.5705.5043

I used the Fairuse 1.3 fix 2 or w/e it's called, but Mirakagi can never find any keys...

You can't roll back WMP 11 on a Vista because it comes with WMP 11

There might be some problem with Vista or with your IBX. Try to downgrade (you can lose all your licenses) or try alternative methods.

I actually tried Soundtaxi (http://undrm.info/remove-DRM-protection/SoundTaxi-Convert-DRM-protected-music-from-Windows-Media-Player-iTunes-Napster-Yahoo-Music-Rhapsody.htm). works great.

Now all I have to do is pay for it and get my key!
