Hey peeps - I need help w BBC iPlayer - just noticed they changed their protocols so Replay Media Catcher no longer can grab them.

Getflv captures strange mini files?

And get_iplayer which has worked for me till now gives me this:

-- needed info might be that I'm using a UK VPN from outside the UK - not Hola - but a real vpn. Works great for watching itv, 4od, bbc iplayer - but can't seem to help me w the stream capture - I'm looking for the highest quality rip + subtitles as well as the AD rip.

Can anyone help?

Internet Download Manager can certainly rip it in HQ but it didn't seem to capture the subtitles. The AD I haven't checked since the sound on my PC is broken.

I'm currently uploading to a file host the AD copy of Dr Who (in HD) along with the subtitles file in .srt format. You can play it back with VLC media player and use subtitles option that you see at the top of VLC .

GetFLV can also capture iPlayer streams & it seems to produce files with slightly smoother playback than the ones obtained with Internet Download Manager. Unfortunately my trial version has expired so I can't upload the full episode captured with that. (And I can't afford to pay for the full version right now).

I'll post the links to the video and subtitles here once they've uploaded.

would have been great - but wouldn't work. possibly vpn won't allow rtmp downloads somehow? It gives me this when trying youtube-dl.

idm is working sometimes, sometimes not - very glitchy.

for subs I have a webpage ;) it has all recent - and archived srt's on iPlayer. http://subtitles.toh.info/

but either I need a new vpn - or i guess I have to settle for IDM - just can't understand why it doesn't allow get_iplayer or rtmpdump. streaming videos works perfectly.

very thankful for both this and AD. IDM would just give me a veeery choppy result on these. just too bad I can't find a decent getflv - the version I got testwise only gives me 3 second cuts - no full vids...
