I would like to record an internet stream. The problem is that the
stream comes in two separate parts. When you download the .ASX file/go
to the url WMP will start playing the first 1 hour and 8 minutes of the
stream. At the end of that portion of the stream, windows media player
resets and begins to stream the final 1 hour 7 minutes of the stream.
I have used many different programs to try to capture this stream but
none of them work, they all only capture the first 1 hour and 8 minutes
of the stream. I know that it does this because windows media player
initially only realizes that the first portion exists. I have used WM
Recorder, SDP, VLC Viewer among many other programs.

What I need is a program that will either,
1. Think that the stream is live and therefore will not quit until I
tell it to.
or
2. That will record exactly what windows media player is playing until
it stops.

Any help that anyone can provide would be great!

Thanks!

In what mode did you record the stream with WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm)?

It could be a Windows Media live playlist. To record it you should use WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) in the PRO Auto recording mode:

A particular use for the PRO mode is the PRO - Auto Recording mode. In this case the entire stream data passes through the recorder. This is recommended when recording streams that require the connection to be initiated from a web site or when web site authentication is needed. Also it is the only way to record Windows Media live playlists.

Even if it is not a Windows Media live playlist you shouldn't have any problem recording such streams with WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) in the PRO Auto recording mode. WM Recorder is the most powerful Windows Media stream recorder. It can record more Windows Media streams than any other stream recorder. But I suggest you to read its user guide to use its full potential 'coz some difficult Windows Media streams require WM Recorder recording mode to be changed.

p.s. Can you post the URL of the web-page where we can find the stream?
