Hi everyone, new to this forum.

I know the topic of downloading mms streams has been covered hundreds of times before, but I just need a little help as this problem is not your typical "how do I download mms streams?"

I have been successfully downloading mms streams using a free program called SDP Downloader, and have had similar success with a few other programs.

I have, however, come across an unsearchable MMS stream that does not have ".wmv" or ".asf" in the URL, which streams two files - one straight after the other.

When I open this URL in Windows Media Player, it goes on for about three hours. The first video it plays is 1h27m11s long, and the second is about the same. When I try to download it using SDP Downloader (or any other software that downloads mms streams), it only downloads the first video (1h27m11s).

My question is: Is there any way of downloading the WHOLE 3 hours of the stream, or any way of finding the URLs of the WMV/ASF files that are being streamed so that they can be downloaded separately?

Thanks,

Amar

It must be a Windows Media player playlist and this case has already been discussed in the iransima thread:

Some mms streams have a special format. Microsoft defines this format as "playlist". The "playlist" format contains multiple streams which all have the same URL therefore they cannot be downloaded individually. One stream needs to be finished playing (or downloading) in order to access the next. The "playlist" format is rarely used. The preferred alternative for Windows Media playlists is the ASX metafile.

To record the individual streams in a playlist stream use WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/streaming-video-recording-wmrecorder.htm) in PRO mode.

A particular use for the PRO mode is the PRO - Auto Recording mode. In this case the entire stream data passes through the recorder. This is recommended when recording streams that require the connection to be initiated from a web site or when web site authentication is needed. Also it is the only way to record Windows Media live playlists with WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/streaming-video-recording-wmrecorder.htm).

The latest versions of HiDownload (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/HiDownload-capturing-streaming-video-and-audio-downloading-movie-streams-record-Internet-radio.htm) and NetTransport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-windows-media-and-real-video.htm#NetTransport) also can record Windows Media player playlist, however there is no stream recorder better than WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/streaming-video-recording-wmrecorder.htm) when recording Windows Media streaming (as well as many other stream formats).

Thanks Stream Recorder.

Actually after doing a bit more research last night I found out that I can record playlists by using WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/streaming-video-recording-wmrecorder.htm) in PRO mode.

Cheers
