I don't like Real Media streams, since more programs are available for Windows Media streams.
For downloading Windows Media streams I recommend to use WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) in the ADA mode, freeware GetASFStream (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetAsfStream-freeware-Windows-Media-stream-ripper.htm) or SDPReceiver (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-windows-media.htm#SDPReceiver).
For capturing Windows Media streams from your local Windows Media Player I recommend to use WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) in the PRO mode, or freeware WebVideoCap (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WebVideoCap-Freeware-stream-capture-software-for-HTTP-flash-RTSP-MMS-Windows-Media-streams.htm).

Thx streamrecorder for your help.
Can you explain why al this software looks so amateurish, crappy, trojan and spyware filled? I don't say it is, it just looks that way, especialy the nirsoft thing. I also vaguely recal that in the past I had some computing problems whit installed nirsoft software.
Anyways to me a software thingy like this seems something that everybody must hav standard in their arsenal.
I don't know if it is a problem for downloading the data if this channel streams nonstop 24/24. Probably best to record it on my end. I was wondering if CamStudio (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/CamStudio-freeware-Windows-Free-video-screen-capture-software-supporting-audio-recording.htm) also does a good job at that? (I need to show the recording to an audience)

If you don't like freeware software, you can always use commercial software like WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm), Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm), NetXFer (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/NetXFer-Saving-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-streaming-to-hd.htm), WM Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMDownloader-Windows-Media-stream-ripper-grabber-Record-ASF-ASX-WMA-WMV-WPL-WAX-WVX-WMX-streaming.htm),... See All streaming media recording software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/all-streaming-video-recording-software.htm) for more.

Screen recorders (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/) will do the job. But they recompress online videos, unlike stream downloading / capturing software. Recording quality depends on the settings you use. All screen recorders are free or free to try, so you can test them and see whether they work for you or not.
