I'm trying to find the direct stream URLs of a couple different groups of radio stations. The first are those that use the Surfer Network streaming service. One example station if this is 95.1 WAYV. I have found a URL for the low quality stream: http://crystalout.surfernetwork.com:8001/WAYV_MP3

But their website player plays in much better (probably AAC) quality:

http://lightningstream.surfernetwork.com/Media/player/view/WAYV_gsl.asp?StreamingServerName=nick11&OnDemandServerName=nick10&targetWidth=1000&targetHeight=800&call=WAYV

Unfortunately it's not as easy as just changing the end from WAYV_MP3 to WAYV_AAC

Another one are the Bell Media stations in Canada, for instance 104.5 CHUM-FM. Once again, I found the low quality stream: http://icecastsource2.amri.ca/chumfm-aac

But the one on their website is much higher quality: http://player.chumfm.com/

I've tried URL Snooper/URL Helper, but haven't gotten anywhere

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not familiar with how to use rtmpdump. Does that somehow find the URLs that are able to be played in winamp, etc?

The WAYV rtmp stream does not play in winamp for me.

The CHUM URL you found is of the same quality as I found, just plain 64k MP3, not the AAC (higher quality) that you get through their website player.

I guess stations are just trying to make this as difficult as possible.

Found the link for CHUM-FM that will play in VLC

Still would like to find the http address that will play in winamp, but it's a start.

Seems that maybe those stations' only direct URLs really are the RTMP streams now.

Can anyone give this iHeart radio one a shot?
