Only advertisements are still in .flv format.

Most of the actual films (program, trailers, etc are now in mp4 and avi format and seem to be split upon multiple servers.

Thus I ask has anyone developed a tool that can access and download the films on gametrailers NOT the commercials which are .mp4 and seemingly now fragmented into multiple pieces on multiple servers rather than a single file.

I've tried to download some videos from gametrailers.com using Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) 4 and didn't have any problem downloading HTTP .flv videos (SD as well as HD videos).

I didn't manage to find any RTMPE streams. Please post the URL of the web-page you're trying to record from.

I can't find any .flv files other than the commercials and a few of the promos. Where are you seeing .flv files for the TV shows?

ALL of the TV shows after June 2010.

here is a direct link for te December 10th 2010 TV show.

I see no .flv files for the TV show, only the commercials.

Yes the TV show plays fine in my oldest browser Mozilla 1.7 as well as my regular browser Firefox 3.6. I do not ever use M$IE. Again the final film SEEMS to be coming from 6 different sources as indicated by the streams coming into the sniffer

If this multiple source re-assembling technique is the new norm for streaming rather than using a signle source has anyone else encountered it before?

hi, there are quite a few other examples (websites, webpages) on this forum where multiple source re-assembling technique (i like that word!! :D) is used. the videos by NBA (basketball) subscriptions, the music by Deezer.com, the ..etc..

nothing new.

In such cases, i would suggest recording the video (or music) with a real-time software recorder. most recently i bought(!) a copy of Applian Replay Capture Suite (Applian RCS) (http://www.applian.com/avscs/). It records everything for you!

And if you now begin to think that i am related to promoting their software products, then ..erh.. ;)

THen that is what we need

a software pack that does the re-assmbling for the client.

Thanks for the info but I was hoping that there was a software pack that allows one to get the source files as the source material is always better than a screen/video captuire.

if anyone finds a manner to access these sources or a new tool that can access the relay streams and reassemble as well, please let us know as that is the next step

i dislike screen capturing (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/) too. it's either bad quality or large files. i prefer the original source files too.

Esar, maybe you know of any tool which re-assembles the chunks? :)

I have tried to use CooJah (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Blader-freeware-RTMP-downloader.htm) and stripped it off my system as it is NOT a good program FOR ME. The video tutorials is no longer on the pointed links of

Anyone have any other reliable EASY to use programs something at least along the lines of Orbit? Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) seems to be the more refined of the RTMP recorders but of course it does NOT work when I tested it for gametrailers.com TV reports.

If you can inform me of the manner by which you were able to get it operational if your system is NOT using M$IE I would be appreciative of any further assistence.

If you are M$IE then I have to wait on a better RTMP recording software package that works in foxfire/mozilla and forget it for the present time.

Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) is easy to use for savvy computer users. It is a very complex program for noobs. And fails often when downloading RTMP streams, no wonder commercial tools like Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) are so popular.

And Orbit doesn't support RTMPE streams, so won't help here. You need to use RTMPE recorders instead.

I assume that you want to get the url from http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/103 based on the cap you posted.

Some of the software above must work because it's just a simple HTTP stream, you put in 'rtmp' as keyword in URL Snooper,so you wouldn't find anything anyway.

The video link is

No. As listed by " boneramous lugayness " above, you can see his screen cap lists

rtmpe://--------------.mp4

urls on MTV. I have used all of the listed softwares and found that only on a few sites do they still access rtmpe urls. Most of these freewares FAIL on displays rtmpe urls now such as MTV music video streams and gametrailers.com which are STILL using rtmpe but are now encryped in such a way that they are no longer detectable by these systems.

I am presently going through the long hex dump capture process and hoping it is not a waste of time after being told that jaksta still works and finding it does NOT work for gametrailers or MTV music videos though still works for some rtmpe sites.

I.ve also tried URL Snooper (http://all-streaming-media.com/find-stream-URL/Project-URL-Snooper-Find-the-actual-stream-URL-Free-download.htm) with the gametrailers URL and i can confirm that it is not working for me, if i go for the manually scan. However if i sniff my network after playing just a little peace of the trailer i end up with a bunch of "rtmpe://cp74787.edgefcs.net/ondemand/spikecomstor/contentstore/getStream/gt/gttv/407/t_gttv_407_a_3n2i6_400.mp4".
How can i download these url to my HD so i can watch the eps on my pc.

These are some valid gamtrailers URLs:

with the RTMPexplorer (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/RTMPExplorer-freeware-GUI-for-rtmpsrv-Windows.htm) i'm getting this error:
"ERROR: RTMP_ReadPacket, failed to read RTMP packet body. len: 14091432"
Does anybody has any idea why this happened or better yet how to fix this.
i'm verry new to this .

Thanks for your quick reply.
After entering the command i end up with a output.flv of 0kb.
A closer look to the console window shows a error "ERROR: RTMP_Connect1, handshake failed."
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that i'm using Windows.
Can it be?

you need to be using correct version of rtmpdump. i tested it with r568 and it is working

Remmy

Thanks every one, that did the trick for me downloading the r568 version.
Is there any way of configure rtmpdump to use a specific amount of memory?
I can see that the clip is being downloaded but after awhile i see a message saying that windows is running low on virtual memory and a check to the task manager shows a bunch of rtmdump process while i only opened the rtmpexplorer who has opened one rtmpdump. Even increase windows virtual memory i still get this error.

You can try to close the RTMPexplorer (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/RTMPExplorer-freeware-GUI-for-rtmpsrv-Windows.htm) window as soon as rtmpsrv grabs the stream.

It will only download the first peace when closing the the rtmpexplorer windows. The good thing about it is that i didn't get the memory error. The bad thing is that i can never download the hole eps like this.

when rtmpsrv closes the connection on client side their client makes new request again and new rtmpdump process is started for each cmd and when this keeps going on you will soon run out of memory. solution is to close the rtmpexplorer as soon as rtmpsrv grabs the first url.

you can copy the command from rtmpsrv and manually launch rtmpdump.

rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://cp74787.edgefcs.net:1935/ondemand?ovpfv=2.1.4" -a "ondemand?ovpfv=2.1.4" -f "WIN 10,3,181,14" -W "http://media.mtvnservices.com/player/prime/mediaplayerprime.1.8.2.swf?uri=mgid:moses:episode: gametrailers.com:118&type=network&ref=www.gametrailers.com&geo=IN&group=entertainment&&CONFIG_URL=http%3a%2f%2fmedia.mtvnservices.com%2fp mt%2fe1%2fplayers%2fmgid%3amoses%3aepisode%3agamet railers.com%3a%2fcontext1%2fcontext1%2fconfig.xml% 3furi%3dmgid%3amoses%3aepisode%3agametrailers.com% 3a118%26type%3dnetwork%26ref%3dwww.gametrailers.co m%26geo%3dIN%26group%3dentertainment%26" -p "http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/118" -C Z: -y "mp4:spikecomstor/contentstore/getStream/gt/gttv/407/t_gttv_407_a_3n2i6_3500.mp4" -o t_gttv_407_a_3n2i6_3500.flv

replace _750 or whatever bitrate number you get, with _3500 to download HD version.

Thanks i tried this but it also leave me with one clip of 5 min.
But now i have the base command. I will use URL Snooper (http://all-streaming-media.com/find-stream-URL/Project-URL-Snooper-Find-the-actual-stream-URL-Free-download.htm) to get the links and then download them manually.
From the base command i will change the letter( t_gttv_407_a_) and offcourse the output name.

Yeah they split videos in multiple parts. you need to download them all (normally 4) to get the whole episode.

Is any one else having trouble downloading the gametrailers GTTV clips. All of sudden i'm getting these errors
"ERROR: rtmp server sent error
ERROR: rtmp server requested close"

i'm using the following commands:

same here, got the error message, it's pretty weird since there is no problem like this before. using ver 2.4..

Remmy

i've tried different versions all has the same problem. while a lot of post on the net state that with version 2.4 it should work.
And version 2.4 does support RTMPE type 9 handshakes. Unless the code i'm using is wrong, i don't understand what is going wrong and most important why.
Can anybody shed some light in to this?

Thnaks for the link Chap

@aaroz88: i figure out your problem your missing the -s (flag SWFURL) and the resume flag(--resume). I've tested it with your link and could download the clip completely. The only down side of this method, is that while using the resume flag it will not automatically resume, you still have to execute the command until it completes the clip.
Can you explain the "-a "ondemand?ovpfv=2.1.4"" in your command. I'm using "URLSnooper 2" to sniff for the necessary URL segment, but i didn't find the "ovpfv=2.1.4".

swfvfy command is needed for the download to be stable without frequent interruption but now we only have problem with SWF Verification Type 2 which the patch did not come out yet.. :(

So, any alternatives for downloading the episodes rather than waiting for 'SWF Verification Type 2' fix to come out?

You could write the code for SWF Verification Type 2.
