I have a problem downloading videos from UFC site
http://www.ufc.tv/video/ufc-183-anthony-johnson-backstage-interview

I have URL snooper / ffmpeg installed.I pasted the first link ro ffmpeg and use this cmd
ffmpeg -i "LINK YOU GET" -c copy -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc "test.mp4"

But Im getting this error

Sorry thought that might get confusing i used my own code just too lazy to copy it over im referring strictly to the 3000k vs 1600k. Using my own code i can download the 1600k video no problem but can not get the 3000k. Have you actually been able to get the 3000k 1280x720 video for this stream? i tried worst instead of best and was able to grab the lower kb stream but not the 3000k.

Worked of course with my own code but with hls vs hlsvariant and 3000_iphone.mp4 vs iphone.mp4. Thank you also ffmpeg worked with _3000.mp4 vs _iphone.mp4.

Whilst this is my first post, I can assure you that I have read the entirety of this thread. I am trying to get a steam to display in VLC using livestreamer from Premierleaguepass.com. The problem is that even if i use iPhone 3.0 as the user agent with URL Snooper the 'trimmed' iPhone URL is never displayed.

I get the exact same as this...

If I try and run that URL through Livestreamer i get the following error "AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'group'".

Premierleaugepass don't support viewing from mobile devices without installing their app, you can't view the stream on mobile safari for instance.

Any ideas on what to do next to get this to work?

I tried with vanilla installs of both Chrome and Firefox, no addblock installed at all.

Are you suggesting that I install adblock, select "Open blockable items" and then try running the sniff again?


Edit: So I opened Firefox with addblock installed and did your suggestion of "open blockable items", I don't get the same iPhone URL that you guys posted before, but i do get a new mp4 URL that i haven't seen before which is http://nlds15.lon.neulion.com:443/nlds_vod/coliseum/vod/2015/08/08/809/2_809_astonvilla_afcbournemouth_2015_h_whole_1_400 .mp4/adaptive.key?clientKey=49d041aa01bc047903b950facde bf18e however if i put that into livestreamer it seems to 'find' the stream but then returns a 403 forbidden error.

^ I've just realised that the URL is the "start" of the pieces that it downloads :/

I know how to do it but my method is that uncommon i don't want to release it because i'm afraid it will get patched.

There's another method for it, you get the android app, install a packet capture app and capture the video as its playing, get the cookie, user agent and m3u8 and figure out the rest.... i'm not saying my method which is completely different from this however.

If you have a mac, an iphone and wireshark (brew install wireshark -- see brew.sh) you can mount your iphone to your mac and sniff the url. Just create a filter in wireshark for m3u8.

I basically just signed up to thank you guys for the thread. I've got a massive MMA collection but there's a couple of events that never get uploaded. While the online service with UFC is looking amazing these days, I still want the hard copy for my own collection and couldn't do it with their videos...

Until this thread. I read the OP of this thread and another and was like "The fuck are they talking about?". I'm savvy enough with computers but was 100% new to all of this. After about 2-3 hours of fucking around, I finally got it and am delighted since it means I can pull the trigger and buy UFC's online service (for some reason I feel like saying the name would get this found and then patched and I'd be sad lmao. Paranoia city).

Just for anyone who might not be able to figure it out based on the thread, I'll try and post my basic knowledgeable breakdown.


Download Livestreamer and Install It
Download URL Snooper and Install It
Download User Agent Switcher for Firefox. Customize your Firefox Toolbar to add it and switch to Iphone 3 mode.
In URL Snooper, open the advanced options and search for "m3u8" in the Must Contain box.
Play the video in Firefox. A link will appear in URL Snooper. Right click and copy it.
Open Command Prompt (Or Notepad first to make it easier)
Enter the following:- livestreamer "hlsvariant://YOUR COPIED URL" best -o YOURFILENAME.mp4
Obviously change the things I capitalized to whatever you want.
Command Prompt should download and finish streaming the file. Now search for it based on the file name and it should show up.

So many great promotions signed with UFC's network now and it'll be good to make sure I have a hard copy of them on disk and external hard drive just in case something ever changes with their network down the line. A lot of great promotions have become really difficult to source like Pancrase and Ultimate Vale Tudo so I plan to get as much from them as I possibly can. They also have Invicta 1, 2 and 3 as well as I think all the ShoXC events after 4. I found those VERY hard to track down, near impossible actually. Also the Ultimate Fighter Nations, Brazil, Latin America seasons have disappeared pretty quickly so getting them on a disk will be great.

Anyways, enough rambling. I really appreciate the help guys and it's good to know that I can go from amateur who doesn't have a clue to seasoned streaming pro in 2 hours :D

with Firefox or chrome and Agent Switcher (iphone mode set on) doesnt play the video and
url snooper doesnt get any m3u8

can someone tell if this method still works?
or a solution
