yo, thought someone here might be able to shed some light on this: i had tried all the programs here since around mid-2010, and the only one i could ever get to work properly was CooJah (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Blader-freeware-RTMP-downloader.htm) 6's 'RTMP Record' feature for streaming videos from multiple sites. it worked great for a while, but now it seems that MTV and its related websites (mainly MTV, Comedy Central, & South Park Studios, as far as i know) have new security or streaming types, because for the last 2 months or so, Coojah gives me this message when attempting to record RTMPE streams:

"RTMPE stream detected but parsing failed by Coojah."

the odd thing is that an episode of Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory was successfully capped/recorded from the 720p stream on MTV.com a few weeks ago, so obviously its still possible... i can easily get the URLs for streams from all of these sites, but obviously downloading attempts wont work, and i havent found a way to 'force record' an RTMPE stream if a URL is available.

any thoughts? i cant be the only one having this problem.

Use RTMPexplorer (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/RTMPExplorer-freeware-GUI-for-rtmpsrv-Windows.htm) with the latest version of RTMPdump (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/rtmpdump-freeware-console-RTMP-downloading-application.htm) compiled from SVN.

Or use shareware GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm).

All other RTMPE recorders need to be updated. But since they are free you never know whether this will happen at all.
