Hey guys there is is new Indian vod website lunched and i wanted to download the shows from them but i have unable to. I have tried adownloader and getflv and livestreemer but they do not work. Someone please help.

I figured out that their m3u8 url dont have country restriction so you only need vpn/proxy to get the manifest url but you can download it using your local internet connection.

For example, for this link: http://www.voot.com/shows/comedy-nights-with-kapil/1/360559/dilwale-with-comedy-wale/358063

I got the following m3u8 url:

http://video.voot.com/fhls/p/1982551/sp/198255100/serveFlavor/entryId/0_inv8m7we/v/2/flavorId/0_1x0nngos/name/a.mp4/index.m3u8

I pasted this m3u8 url in adownloader and it started downloading without the need of vpn.

Remember, the m3u8 url only offer 360p as maximum quality so if you want to download 1080p video, connect to indian vpn, paste video link in adownloader, wait until it shows all available qualities, disconnect vpn, choose 1080p and it will start downloading.

7. When you get this link you can download it with most downloading softwares like adownloader, getflv or livestremer.

Note. If you are not in india then you need a Indian server vpn (can use hotspot shield) you get the first link but when modify the link then you do not need a india server vpn You can use your home speed to download.

URL snooper does not work for me, when i tried installing it changed the settings of my computer so i didn't bother again.

I found another way, it requires adownloader to generate the link and then you can use any downloader like IDM. Here i selected 720p to download.

Hey, Yes adownlaoder does work for me till now. When you use adownloader you get lots of quilty's and there are two for 1080p as well. One of them is drm protected and the other one is watchable mp4. So try it again.

As mentioned by others in the thread, adownloader was working till yesterday. But, today only the DRM protected streams are getting recognized by it, and hence, the final file is useless [found after downloading ~1GB file :( ].

Any help in finding a loophole in voot.com to download the videos will be appreciated !

Bro move the livestremmer from your c drive to videos or some other folder because you know when we copy anything from anywhere to program files its asks for admins permission, same way when the video is trying to write itself into the folder it does not allow it.

Some shows only have max 720p, mostly old shows the ones which aired before 2012 cause at that time colors hd was not launched.

1st play video normally in your browser and copy the mpd link from network tab in devolper tool by pressing F12..

Need a help beizom. I got this to work but its downloading in 1080p. Any option to select quality? I generally download videos in 360p and very rarely in 720p so it will be good if someone can tell me how to add quality selection option.

It should be in the livestreamer folder. I download 3 videos till now and it worked perfectly.

For conversion you need to install ffmpeg and then run this command after navigating into the folder using command prompt:

ffmpeg -i video.ts -c copy -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc video.mp4

I generally get 130KB/s and my download does not stop, yes it takes a long time but download is completed without any problem. Also i make sure to dont use anything when the download is going on. Maybe your connection is like that. :(

i downloade one episode from biezom script it gives me 216 mb file with 2500 video bitrate and than i did m3u8 edit and download via ffmpeg and gives me 876 mb file with almost 10 mbps video bitrate....

as the flavour id is of highest bitrate one is not listed in mpd or anywhere you can get it again by editing your m3u8 link ....

maybe biezom can do any trick as i dont know about any coding...

Hi guys, just a query. Anybody knows a way to download mp4 from voot using IDM? I cant use beizom software currently because of an idiotic connection which keeps on disconnecting. So i need something which i can resume. Adownloader hangs on my pc so not possible from that too.

I just used a VPN to get access to the site and then I copy pasted all the links for each of the episodes I wanted to download into a Word document to use later in the vootlivestreamer.bat file that Biezom provided. You can right click on each episode window...copy link address and paste it; no need to play the videos. Once you have the links you do not need to use a VPN to download. Hope that helps :)

I use vpnoneclick - https://www.vpnoneclick.com/download/ - It's quick and easy, but I paid for a years subscription because it was cheap (?13) and I use it a lot. Their servers in Europe are free, but for India you have to pay. I think it gives you the very first connection to a server for free. I know it did on my mobile. Not sure about PC, so if you try it connect to India first.

Since it's just the links you're after you can try using Fly Vpn - https://www.flyvpn.com/freetrial - this one gives you a free 20 min session three times a day...or there is Hola too.

I had downloaded a whole series back in May with no problem and now when I went back to using it, it's not working :mad: . All I used to do was open the Command Prompt and paste the voot link and it will pick up the video file. Has Voot changed their security or something or am I doing it wrong?? :confused:

I bypasses the geo-restiction with firefox
1) install adddon X-Forwarded-For Header
2) in preferences add an address found here
http://www.nirsoft.net/countryip/in.html

3) open a new private window

not sure if the videos are playable but you can show the link and use the scripts

I use vpn one click to get access to Voot.com
However it is a VPN that you have to pay for, which is pretty cheap fo me as I am in the UK. Costs me approx. ?15 for the year. You can even get a month's subscription for $2.00.

Hello everybody, I've been looking for a way to download content from voot and finally found it here so I thank you all to lead me here & specially "Biezom" the one who made it happen :)

I have gone thro all the pages and read all the posts and it worked properly using vootffmpeg but lately a slight problem occurred :o , suddenly the downloading has stopped in the middle of it :confused: , yeah it stops at 50 MB sometimes at 160 MB but never completes the downloading :( :(

I would like to have some help here if someone has faced this kind of a problem before and gotten thro it, thanks to all again :)


P.S #1 I tried using vootffmpeg from a different device & it worked just fine :confused:

P.S #2 This kind of a problem started when I downloaded 20 files at once before (maybe it got crashed or something) but I downloaded it again but same problem happened

Hi there, Can't help you much with voot live streamer but would like to share a way to download content from voot ( a bit complicated one actually)

** The method works easily with android phones by downloading two apps (videoder ---> in playstore or otherwise find an APK online) & (any VPN app that can let you connect to an Indian server)
1- Open the VPN first and try to connect to Indian server.
2- Go to the preferred link in voot and copy-paste it in videoder app.
3- Wait for the links to be generated with different qualities then select the preferred one and download. :)


The same method could be done on PC or laptop too but you have to create a platform for android apps (better have BlueStacks program)
1- Download BlueStacks and install it and log on to it. (create a user if you don't have one already)
2- Download the APK file of Videoder app online.
3- You need to have a VPN software to connect the Indian server.
4- Open the APK file via BlueStacks by selecting the APK icon.
5- Repeat steps 2&3 from the 1st method above. :)

There are some ways buddy:

1) Use Indian proxy server (get an Indian ip address along with its port) some websites provide such proxies :

and many others

all you have to do is get a recently added working proxy server ip and and paste it in your browser's network setting.

2) Use free VPN to connect to Indian server (SoftEther VPN Client, Hotspot Shield, etc..)

3) Use paid VPN program (VPNOneClick, ExpressVPN, HideMyAss, etc..)

4) Use browser add-ons like ( Hola, Zenmate, etc..)

It works fine using another laptop so I don't think there's a problem with the software itself, pls guys if u have any solution do give :)

One more thing (more of a problem actually :p ) I'd like to say is some videos are 0 sized after being downloaded (using another laptop) because of the name of the file, for example fear factor episodes of season 5 & 6 has a colon punctuation mark : in its name and that's why the final output of the file is empty 0 bytes
