Up until around March or April, I was using RTMP Dump to rip shows from CBS.com. After they (seemingly) changed something that caused that software not to work, I was still able to get the shows from other websites (usually DirecTV.com or Uverseonline.ATT.net), but it seems like sometime over the summer, they changed their settings, as well. I'm sort of at a loss as to what to do now. Does anyone know how to rip from any of these sites these days?

youtube-dl supports cbs.com.

cbs.com defaults to hds, but rtmp is still available - although 720p seems to be gone.

Thanks! This is working really well -- in fact, maybe too well. The videos are downloading at about 2.5x the file size I'm used to. I'm having trouble deciphering the various command line options I can issue to YouTube-dl, so is there a way I can find which file sizes are available and then specify which one I want to capture?

Use the "-F" (uppercase f) option to get a list of available formats. Choose a format code from that list and use it with the "-f" (lowercase f) option to download it.

Just tried youtube-dl for the first time to download a CBS video. Downloaded the windows exe file but I keep getting errors about "falling back to generic information extractors" and "Unsupported URL" when i try to run it.

-Run command prompt as Admin
-Change directory to where the exe is saved
-Run "youtube-dl URL."

Where "URL" is:
http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/watch/Under-the-Dome/7415074327007149112/332320323655/Under-The-Dome---Go-Now/videos
OR
http://uverse.com/tv/show/under-the-dome?play=c___ILJd_sqpUlIC
OR
http://www.dishanywhere.com/shows/under_the_dome_489223/episodes/4014109/1720242/

I get the same errors no matter what link I use. Not sure what i am doing wrong.

Perhaps this program only works for episodes hosts on CBS itself and not any of the videos that re-direct to cable sites (like my above links). In that case, I guess I could not download any of the "under the dome" episodes since they all seems to re-direct off of CBS dot com. Is that the case?

Atresdownloader supports now CBS-uverse links
