Then how can they capture without the "next episode" screen in the ending credits? I have a PS3, a Xbox 360 and an Avermedia Game Capture II but there's the fact that when the video starts it isn't 1080p yet and the "next episode" screen which pops up every time the ending credits appear.

Regarding the X-files, season 1 was captured from Netflix in 1080p via recording in real-time, they're not a direct-stream capture. Seasons 2-9 are in 720p and from Hulu, Netflix doesn't even actually have the full series in HD.

I pasted this before in another thread that's lost.

This method is interesting, but basically a certificate is pushed to the device (normally a base64 encoded cert) and the device accepts and uses this cert to contact a keyserver and download the decryption key and stores it locally on the device.

I'm sure you see a URI=skd:// or something similar in your playlist.

I'm still not able to figure out where the key is stored, or how it's obtained.

Never tried UVD for HuLu but, GetFLV is working on HuLu Plus right now. I've snatched 1500K streams but, so far no luck with 3200K streams from http://download.hulu.com/huludesktop.swf

Naw. 3200K is still 720p it's just higher bit rate. When I try to snatch the 3200K files it gives a message "unable to download normally" "would you like to record in rtmp mode?" There is a guy who is ripping the 3200K streams with GetFLV I think he's using a slightly older version than I am but, I compared a rip I did with the exact same episode he ripped and I couldn't really tell enough difference to make me go out of my way to use the http://download.hulu.com/huludesktop.swf version of HuLu. It's a much bigger pain in the ass to deal with and spams you with trailers and shit.

the 3200k streams vs 1500k are totally worth double the bitrate. What you compare may have been animation or something without the same HD detail as something live action.

I'm somewhat confused. If HuLu Plus videos download for me easily in 1500K from their normal webpage while logged in then why would I be refused a download from http://download.hulu.com/huludesktop.swf? It makes no sense. I'm logged in. I get the correct URL but, when a download is initiated it tells me it's unable to download it normally and asks me if I want to download via rtmp mode which is a fail as well as undesired. It really makes no sense. I know people are doing it so, it must work. I even updated to the latest build of GetFLV as well as the latest flash. From someone who claimed to do it are you doing anything special that I should be aware of because this should be pretty straight forward?

Can someone make a tweak to enable the High Quality profiles such as 3200k (720p) & 6000k (1080p) for the Hulu app for ppl who are on iOS 6 and can't upgrade to iOS 7 or 8? So they can be downloaded with UVD? Enrud made a tweak for the Netflix app to enable the High Quality profiles? I was wondering if someone could do the same for Hulu? Thanks! :)

I was able to download and watch the 3200K hulu streams using UVD on a first gen ipad IOS 5.1.1 but when I moved the files over to my windows pc I had to use this command line prompt ffmpeg -i 3200.m3u8 -c copy test.ts doing this will give you the full tv show in one file but it will have the advertising and the audio is out of sync as well. I don't know how to get rid of the ads or fix the sync but you will have a full quality rip of the show. I believe the same can be accomplished with ffmpeg -i "3200.m3u8" -c:v copy -c:a copy -f mpegts test.ts I have not tested this yet but, I have my doubts it will fix the audio sync issue. If anyone knows how to properly do these hulu rips with UVD please help.

Higher streams have to be captured with a lossless video capture card via hdmi over a PS3 etc. There is no decrypting past standard definition because there is no key for decryption.

I have an Avermedia Game Capture HD II, but I don't know how to capture from Netflix, because the episodes always start with low quality and a few seconds later they get to 1080p. Also, the Netflix app on PS3 always pops up a "Next Episode" screen when the ending credits are about to start.

I'm having a problem with the IOS method on SD Netflix rips. Some video streams fail to mux with ffmpeg because it says invalid data found when processing input. It doesn't happen on all files just some of them. Anyone know a fix that will answer the question instead of just acknowledging that they know the answer?

sounds like your "crypt0.key" is wrong

I don't think it's the crypt0.key. When it says invalid data found when processing input I think it means this.

If you look at the sample with a hexeditor, you will see it starts
with 65536 characters that are not part of the video stream
(nearly all of them are "0").

You can either cut them away with (for example)
dd if=001ST_4Q_MA4_HC_11_L1.264 of=test.264 bs=65536 skip=1
or force ffmpeg to read a h264 stream:
ffmpeg -f h264 -i 001ST_4Q_MA4_HC_11_L1.264

It could be argued that FFmpeg should search harder for the begin
of a usable stream but there will always be a file that has more
trash at the begin and for some inputs, it is very undesirable
to initially read a lot of data.

I am able to get this working but, it only works some of the time. For example. If it plays back in UVD on the iPad then it can be decrypted but, if the download fails to play in UVD then it will not decrypt. For some reason I have to download the same file repeatedly until I am served a usable video file. I'm inclined to believe it's possibly on a timer because when I attempt the first rip of the day it's always a success but, if I download another right away then it fails. Then after a few more attempts I will get a usable file again. Very strange.

Wow, HD Rips were awesome while that lasted.. Anyways In order to get the correct key all the time you must download the video from Netflix version 2.0 or below. Not sure why but that's what I would do.

OK. I got the audio issue figured out but, now I have the problem of every file downloaded by Universal Video Downloader is present except for the audio file and the m3u8 file for the audio but, strangely it plays back fine in Universal Video Downloader but, I can't figure out where it's storing the audio file and it's m3u8. At least you can get something. I can't even login in the app. I have tried versions 2, 4, 5 and 6. None will work. Only 7 and up. And version 7 uses other file format.

Those are all captures done over HDMI output, don't get fooled by 5.1 audio, most of the capture cards are able to record it.

Basically I had URLSnooper2 running while playing a video. For the Android app: I had the app running in Bluestacks. You get some very long URLs, one of them is the audio track.
You need to adjust the URLs from the win8 app a bit. You have to delete something about a range at the beginning of the URLs. They should then look like the URLs from Android.
In Android you get 62kbps and 96kbps 2.0 aac audio. In the Windows8 app you get 192kbps 5.1 ac3 audio.

Thx, that was interesting... i did some test using another android emulator. I guess that the faster method to determinate which file is the audio is to copy all the link provided from url snooper and to paste it into the "link grabber" of jdownloader... there you can see the sizes, the smallest ones (around or under 100 MB) are the unencrypted audios, the bigger ones are the (encrypted) videos.

i used Downloaded netflix file shrek folder and worked fine to converting...
i copy uvd convert php file to movie folder and i created bat file to faster create movie and audio file to decode...
i added to attached...
but i dont know a new movie way...

Those are all captures done over HDMI output, don't get fooled by 5.1 audio, most of the capture cards are able to record it.

I want to add something. You can easily download the 5.1 audio track. When using the Netflix Windows 8 app, you get the 5.1 audio track unencrypted. 2.0 audio is encrypted though. The Android app is using unencrypted 2.0 audio.

I decrypted the one from netflix 3.1 the crypt0.key was correct.. tell me the one from 5.3.1 was the same exact episode? becuase the crypt0.key its the same on any resolution. I used the crypt0.key from the 3.1 directory but it was invalid and i couldnt decrypt it

con que hablas espa?ol xD, bien sera mas sencillo explicarte la situación, la version 2.2 de netflix ya permite la resolucion 512x384 y la version 3.1 permite la resolucion 720x480 esto teniendo en cuenta que usas una conexion wifi, si usas la conexion de internet del iphone ahi se te da como limite la resolucion 512x384 en cualquier version que uses, por lo que siempre es recomendable conectarse a una red wifi para descargar los videos, y en cuanto a la version del uvd, es el 1.1.1 que hasta hoy dia nunca me ha fallado, por cierto que ios tienes? porque yo tengo el iphone 4 con ios 7.1.2 y a partir de la version 5 de netflix ya tiene como opcion de descarga el HD 1280x720, si usas el netflix 6 y te da como maximo el 720x480 entonces seguramente tienes ios 6 no?

Basically I had URLSnooper2 running while playing a video. For the Android app: I had the app running in Bluestacks. You get some very long URLs, one of them is the audio track.
You need to adjust the URLs from the win8 app a bit. You have to delete something about a range at the beginning of the URLs. They should then look like the URLs from Android.
In Android you get 62kbps and 96kbps 2.0 aac audio. In the Windows8 app you get 192kbps 5.1 ac3 audio.

Is it possible to use Wireshark to capture netflix traffic? Because urlsnooper2 is no longer able to view Netflix urls.

better late than never. I have fought and struggled with netflix and amazon video back when I still had a data cap. I had a whole library online when they decided to cap me in the first place so I had no choice but to search out options. I found a terrible way to rip the stream is with all that desktop recording garbage. Eventually I came across a way to record strait off hdmi after using the craziest technique that just happens to work stripping the protection off. Having said all that. I realized shortly after. Amazon only streams to PC in stereo. Even still I then quickly realized how little necessity there is for capturing a already decoded 5.1 or above signal. Its just not how things work unless you are avoiding DRM. My reasons are legit but needless to say not everyones are, and that croud isnt exactly large enough to have much capturing software and/or hardware out there. I found a program that would read all the channels but as I said that is only on PC and that streamed stereo only. If decoded then its going out pcm or analog and i doubt you got 5.1 tape recorders recording terrible one speaker sound let alone the LFE. So..my experience is no 5.1 recording regardless of how hard you try. Now decrypting a downloaded video is beyond me and why i showed up here today...i dont have a cap any more so I no longer am banned from my large amazon library..but i just wanted to take a freaking screenshot without going to the PC on netflix..but...nope..lol.
