Hi everyone

I'm trying to download some vids from the bbc website but they apparently arent on iplayer. Not that it would make much of a difference since the only way I can watch either, is by using Hola Unblocker.

However I am trying to download them this time not just watch online. I downloaded a little software that allows you to do screen capture, called Krut I think which is based on java but it's not capturing audio even though i tried and the video capture leaves frankly loads to be desired.

So I really could use your help either by:
- suggesting other ways to download these videos or
- downloading them for me if you have an easier, more direct way - *begs*

Either will do, please. If you've seen my other posts I generally try a lot of stuff before posting but I'm a bit lost on how to get this done right now and that's why I'm even asking if you could download them for me. It's so frustrating not finding a way.

I tried using a VPN once - some time ago - but it kept disconnecting and it was so full of ads that I'm not sure if that time my computer got infected.

so you can download the vids via rtmpdump so its working.Here a short link and command-line of your first and second video (third was not playable on the website at the moment)

So to make it process easier you should use RtmpDumpHelper tool so just have a look into rtmpdump section and check out the tools you need so that you can handle this steps & downloading by yourself.Just spend some little time with this and then you will get some success (if not send some feedback about your progress).

You can also use other tools as livestreamer for exsample...etc.

Hi Troller! Thank you very much for your help!

I am familiar with rtmpdump but I wasn't with rtmpdumphelper, I'm going to download it now :) I usually try to check if I can get the rtmpdump parameters using wireshark but for the rtmp protocols (rtmp/rtmpt) it always says something like "unknown" ?? so i can't get it to work that way so I'm very grateful for your rtmpdump commands!

Regarding the third video the only way I can get it to work is by using Hola Unblocker so I guess there is some sort of country restriction going on? However I'm not able to download it. I tried checking if I could see some rtmp url using urlsnooper but none shows up :(

Hi mrswhite,

nice to hear you got the two vids now.So I tried to get the third video too over any proxy IP and VPN but it dosen't work for me.Still just get the message "This content dosen't seem to be working.Please try again later" but only for this video all others are working.Maybe its really any site issue now so just try it again and see what you got now.

Just use RtmpDumpHelper too for the last video to get the link datas if the video does play in your browser.You can also try to use URLHelper tool too to get the playpath and then use the link data I did post before so it should be also same as the other two vids.

First you should try to use any more simple tools instead to use Wireshark what is more for advanced user so I don't use WS too for this streaming sniffing stuff. :)

I often use allavsoft to download Videos from bbc.co.uk to MP4, AVI, MP3 etc.
