There are many great music videos streamed on Arte Live Web but they appear only for a limited time. It is impossible to download them using regular download managers like FDM, Orbit, Video download helper, etc. Apparently the http of the video is encoded in the web page & needs to be "sniffed out". I've found a few tutorials of how to download from Arte but they are either for MAC or far beyond my computer skills. I run Windows 7 ultimate.
If anybody can help me with this, i'll be extremely grateful

rtmpsuck isn't in that package you linked.

Anyway, I followed your method with Windows.:)
rtmpsuck shows playpath OK.:)
I will have to investigate the Linux rtmpsuck, find out why no playpath.:confused:

THANKS ALOT FOR YOUR REPLY..UNFORTUNATELY i HAD TO GOUT OF THE CITY FOR A FEW DAYS OF WORK....now I'm back and I'm trying again..now I have tried 3 or 4 times to get a m. portal download but none of the tries could go more than 255 mb downloaded....the message appearing is : ERROR :failed to read RTMP packet leader ..
any more light you can shine on this ?

erstmal: schön sich auf deutsch verständigen zu können und sorry, dass ich erst jetzt reagiere und mich für deinen tip bedanke. also danke!!!
allerdings , soweit war ich schon. Ich war bereits beim download (ca.500 mb) aber irgendwann kam immer wieder diese "error"-meldung die ich schon gepostet hatte (blau markiert): Request Timeout ... (habs bestimmt 15x versucht).
Bin ja absoluter laie, aber kann es sein, dass das nichts mit der rtmp-software sondern mit der internet-verbindung zu tun hat (habe um die 12.000 kbit/dsl) und falls ja, gibts da evtl. tricks? ports freigeben oder sowas, und falls ja wie macht man das (hab ne fritz-box)?
