Hi, Umm.. I usually download all of my music videos from aol using the

http://pdl.stream.aol.com

_dl.mov

trick, but it will no longer work for any of the videos I want to download. I want to download them for my ipod, and i like to have them just to watch because the quality is way better than yahoo's 691kbps videos. ]


So, Say I wanted to download Nelly Furtado Promiscuous, I get this with URL Snooper:

mms://wms.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/musicpartner/universal/nellyfurtado/nellyfurtadoftimbaland_promiscuous_10602498559919_ 700.wmv

so I'd use:

http://pdl.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolmusic/musicpartner/universal/nellyfurtado/nellyfurtadoftimbaland_promiscuous_10602498559919_ dl.mov

to download it. But recently I can't download any videos like that, can someone please please please help me download Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous from AOL? or even tell me what I'm doing wrong, or why this no longer works..

Again those streams with spaces in the URL. Everytime I try to record them, I have a problem.

The only solution I see it to record Windows Media stream with stream recording software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/all-streaming-video-recording-software.htm) like WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) and then convert it to QT with video converter (http://all-streaming-media.com/convert-audio-video-files/) like AVS video converter (http://all-streaming-media.com/convert-audio-video-files/AVS-video-converter-Convert-video-WMV-ASF-RA-RM-MOV-QT-SWF-AVI-DIVX-MPEG-MP4-PSP-iPod-3GP-3G2-3GPP.htm)

Someone intelligent enough? Wow! That's a pretty insulting remark and I for one am totally offended by it. Don't bother contacting me for any more help downloading files.

This so-called "trick" only works on files that are currently available in the ".mov" file format. Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous isn't at the moment. It may have been in the past and it may be in the future, but it isn't now. How much intelligence does it take to understand that?

don't get mad, get glad! Just because it isn't available in mov format, doesn't mean no format exists. There is a way to access stream url of original file, but no one has found it yet. Or maybe they are testing new system. Who knows, that's why I ask the question.

Do you have a clue on what you're talking about here? The original poster already gave you the access stream url of the original file (.wmv format) in his initial post.

For those who don't know anything about GAMV:
GAMV is a freeware application that allow to search and download audio and video files from AOL servers. You may download GAMV from

I tried to contact the developer of GAMV, Fernando Barajas using the following contact form

but all I got were server errors.

GAMV doesn't work for me. I can find audio/video stream names with it, but the download and play buttons are not active so I can't download. And I can't even get the URL of a stream from the program.

Please try to ask the developer how did he manage to dl and what tricks can be used to dl QT streams with a regular download manager.
