Hi all,

I've tried many many times to get the stream on this page downloaded:

As you can see, paid registration is required to view the footage in question. However, I do have some links I've obtained from the source code that I'm looking at to use for the purpose of recording the footage onto my computer. Every program and method I've used has failed so far, could someone explain where I'm going wrong?

So from my understanding it's a SMIL stream. I pieced together parts of the source code to get this url:

Unfortunately I can't remember exactly how I got the two URL fragments I used to create this composite, so right now I'm not entirely sure if this URL is accurate - the formula I used could very well be faulty.

Regardless, is this enough info for anyone here to help me out? Is there something I should look for in the source code? (Since no-one else is able to without paying the membership fee.)

Cheers!

Have you tried any RTMP Flash stream recorders (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-Adobe-Flash-FLV-videos.htm)?

What OS do you have?

Yeah, I have - but for some reason I can't figure out why none of them have worked for me. Are there any recommended options?

Try Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) in the RTMP recording mode and let me know if it shows any errors.

This is what Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) is giving me:

Recording of rtmp://x83x.od.channel.livestream.com/mogulusProxy<break>mp4:dv02/mogulus-user-files/chmusichype/2010/03/15/c79e61aa-2c9a-4387-9e34-0425970b488b.m4v

etc.

This is what it gives me when I try recording RTMP from the browser. Something might be wrong when I try my .SMIL link, as nothing really happens other than the status of the download in jaksta telling me that I've exceeded the trial version limit. Or something.

However these two links look to be on the right track:

rtmp://x83x.od.channel.livestream.com/mogulusProxy<break>mp4:dv02/mogulus-user-files/chmusichype/2010/03/15/c79e61aa-2c9a-4387-9e34-0425970b488b.m4v

...Ideas?

Hi,

Put Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) in recording mode. Tools > Settings and expand RTMP Download Tweaks and then check Always record RTMP streams (instead of downloading).

For more info see the FAQ on recording verses downloading on jaksta.com.

Alternatively contact support AT jaksta.com directly.

Hi, thanks for the help - but Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) does not seem to recognise the stream, even in when I put it into monitoring mode in RTMP mode and press the play button on the livestream box.

Would you like to see the page source?

Hi Michael_m,

Work fine :
rtmpdump -r "rtmp://x83x.od.channel.livestream.com/mogulusProxy" -y "mp4:dv02/mogulus-user-files/chmusichype/2010/03/15/c79e61aa-2c9a-4387-9e34-0425970b488b.m4v" -o Title.flv
