First off this is the first time I've tried to use linux (lubuntu 16.10 32bit) in a VM and for simple web browsing I can see it's faster. But for ease of use on installing stuff like this it's worse then my old DOS days so far.
I have installed rtmpdump-ksv and all the bs it required, node, and ffmepg and SN4T14/capturebate-node begins to start, sees models as online then gives me this
events.js:141
throw er; // Unhandled 'error' event
^
Error: spawn rtmpdump ENOENT
at exports._errnoException (util.js:870:11)
at Process.ChildProcess._handle.onexit (internal/child_process.js:178:32)
at onErrorNT (internal/child_process.js:344:16)
at nextTickCallbackWith2Args (node.js:441:9)
at process._tickCallback (node.js:355:17)
I try reinstalling rtmpdump even a different version from another thread where someone else was having problems. Nada same error.
Anyone have any ideas before I scrap this whole project?
Or a step by step guide on how to use sstativa or SN4T14 capturebate-node on windows or linux?

I suppose you are experiencing the same problem with Ubuntu 16.x, check this threat, there is a solution for this.

And, one more, SN4T14/capturebate-node has a lot of problems that have been solved in sstativa/capturebate-node.

None of those solutions worked, same error. Thanks for the ideas though I do appreciate it.
What version of linux works right with rtmpdump? Just gonna delete this VM and start over hopefully with something known to work better.

You can try ubuntu 14.04 (32bit !!!), it does not have pre-installed rtmpdump.
Usually the whole process is simple:
compile and install rtmpdump-ksv
install nodejs
clone the chaturbate code
install node libraries
run
As for your current VM, have you tried to find existing rmtpdump libs?
# sudo find / -name "librtmp.so.*" -exec ls -al {} \;
If you find several files like librtmp.so.0 or librtmp.so.1 you should try to replace them by the same file from your rtmpdump-ksv folder (pay attention to filesize)

Got it to work in windows 7 with rtmpdumphelper. So wish I'd just tried that to start with instead of wasting a day on linux. Oh well live and learn.

This version should work on Windows too and it has precompiled rtmpdump-ksv

That's the version I used, explains why it worked so well seeing how it has rtmpdump-ksv already in it. Thanks

For Linux and MacOS you have to compile and install rtmpdump-ksv manually.
As for Windows, rtmpdump.exe and related dll are already a part of the source code. It should work on Windows without problems in 99%.
What error do you have?

I've just checked on Windows and it DID NOT work for me too
UPD:
Actually, it works perfectly. It was my fault I messed up with config. Check that you have correct login and password and there is at least one space before # comments.

I did compile and install it. No matter what I did in linux the error never changed.
Windows is working very well, recording 12 streams atm and only using around 30% cpu in a single core VM. Even have the convert.js working after moving ALL the files from ffmpeg's bin folder into the folder with the convert.js.
Now on to working on how to put all this content to good use.
I'm sure I will come back to getting this working in linux in the future as dl'ing and uploading from my home connection will get old and be a huge bottleneck I'm sure. But for testing purposes and getting all my other ducks in a row this works.
So thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
