Sorry a newbie here and I searched other posts and haven't seen this problem.

Using Replay AV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-AV-capture-Streaming-Video-Audio-Radio-Shows-Online-TV-Broadcasts-Video-Clips-Audio-Archives-Podcasts-Free-to-try.htm) I sucessfully copy the stream but when I try and view it, Windows Media Player states that the file is not recogonized.

Any ideas?

What stream format did you try to record?

Do you know that Windows Media Player can play Windows Media files and streams by default, but you need to install other codecs (or a codec pack) to play FLV, RM, MOV,... files?

You can also use players like freeware VLC player (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-windows-media-and-real-video.htm#VLC) that come with built-in codecs and support the most popular formats.
