I had read the "[TUTORIAL] how to simply use rtmpsrv/rtmpdump" thread.
I don't know if rtmpsrv can be installed into a IP Cameras? The OS of IP Camera is embedded Linux. Because we try to publish the live streaming of IP Camera via RTMP protocol. Could you kindly give me more information about this?
Thank you very much!

Hi *****, thanks for the **. I am sorry that i dont know how to help you. here some facts:
+ the rtmpsrv tutorial isnt by me. i just commented that the tutorial works for me on a Windows PC.
+ i dont know what IP camera is
+ i dont own *any* type of camera nor do i use or have knowledge about cameras
+ even if did, i still dont understand your question or request (and there is no point in explaining or posing it more clearly to a newbie like me) nor do i understand what you are trying or planning to do. nice plans anyway. good for you!
+ AFAIK, rtmpsrv.exe is a computer file for windows PC's and it wont work on Linux PC's. for Linux, you must use rtmpsuck. AFAIK. RTFM.
+ i REALLY dont know how to help you, and i am DEFINITELY the wrong person to ask. please ask somebody else :p
Have a good day :D
Best, ****.
Sorry again.
hehe.. ;)

rtmpsrv works fine in Linux (tested in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick). But I have never dealt with embedded Linux, so can't help.

IP Camera is Internet Protocol Camera.
We are tyring to publish our images(live streaming) of Cameas via RTMP protocol.
We have done the RTSP already. Now, we are looking for solution to implement RTMP into our system!
All our programes are runing on Embedded Linux. I have read some discussion about rtmpdump (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/rtmpdump-freeware-console-RTMP-downloading-application.htm).
And I am interested in rtmpsrv and rtmpsuck and want to know how to use them? Some examples or guide will be very helpful!:o
IP Camera is not to be FMS(Flash Media Server) nor be a Client, either
IP Camera --> FMS <-- Browser(Web Pages "Client").
That is my question
Thank you, Placebo;)

rtmpsrv is not a full RTMP server, which is what you would want in an IP camera.
In the past I have considered adding RTMP streaming support to the ffmpeg project's ffserver. It doesn't seem to me to be a worthwhile project though, since RTMP is an inferior, proprietary protocol and pretty much everything already supports RTSP these days.

Hello hyc: :)
We want to use rtmpsrv to publish living images(on-the-fly) of IP Cameras to a FMS.
Then, the other clients(Browser) can connect to FMS to get the living images from FMS.
It will reduce our IP Cameras' loading. There is No need everyone to connect IP Cameras to get living images.
I just don't know is rtmpsrv possible to do that?
I try to build a simulation environment on Linux server to do the test first.
But it doesn't work till now.
My testing is ...
STEP1. Run rtmpsrv as RTMP server on Linux.
STEP2. Use JW player as client on Windows XP.
But I don't know how to use ffmpeg as the input of living images??
Any suggestions or help will be appreciated~~:o

The answer is "No." That is not what rtmpsrv does.
