I've unsuccessfully tried WMR Pro and WMR Recorder. CNN's Pipeline uses its own flavor of the Windows Media Player to stream their video but I'm not able to get WMR Pro or WMR Recorder to recognize it. Any recommendations? Thanks.

CNN Pipeline has discountinued.
You shouldn't have any problem downloading http:// .flv videos from edition.cnn.com with WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm).
As for live RTMP streaming videos at edition.cnn.com, although you can try to record them with RTMP Flash stream recorders (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-Adobe-Flash-FLV-videos.htm) like Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) or Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm), it might be better to use screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/) like WM Capture (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/WM-Capture-screen-video-capture-software-that-records-with-high-quality.htm) instead.
