may be i am not agree with you, the best video recorder i think is Watcher, you can exam whether this is right or wrong.

i've used Active Webcam (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-webcam-video-and-audio/Active-WebCam-Live-simultaneous-recording-and-broadcasting-from-unlimited-webcams-motion-detection-and-time-stamp-supported.htm) for a year and that captures better than others here...
but u can use a4 tech hamcap software if dont already need so much of quality
