Hi,

I'm trying to record Quicktime Streams high quality from Archivio
Storico Luce http://www.archivioluce.com/archivio/. For example the following stream:
http://www.archivioluce.com/archivio/jsp/schede/schedaCine.jsp?db=cinematograficoDOCUMENTARI&section=/&physDoc=3351&theTerm=i+protagonisti+del+calcio&qrId=3se0519b81dd4379&findCine=true&findFoto=true&findPartner=true

URL Snooper (http://all-streaming-media.com/find-stream-URL/Project-URL-Snooper-Find-the-actual-stream-URL-Free-download.htm) grabs the following URL:
rtsp://151.1.148.222/qtime/300K/D300K/D037501.mov

Trying to download this with NetTransport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/NetXFer-Saving-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-streaming-to-hd.htm) I get this error log:

Maybe I have to add a Referer?

Why don't you download Windows Media or Real Media stream from this web-site instead?

I've downloaded the Real Media stream from this web-site but wasn't convinced by the quality. I would like to get the Quicktime stream as this is probably the best of the given three formats. Certainly the old recordings there couldn't have the quality by it's age.

Did you had success downloading the Quicktime stream?

RTSP .mov streams has always been problematic. Besides NetTransport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/NetXFer-Saving-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-streaming-to-hd.htm) you can try to use HiDownload (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/HiDownload-download-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-Flash-FLV-Shoutcast-MP3-audio-streaming-and-save-to-hd.htm), MovRecorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-quick-time.htm#MovRecorder) or freeware VLC player (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-windows-media-and-real-video.htm#VLC).

I would just download Windows Media stream instead. There are lots of stream recorders that support this format, and the quality is pretty good.

I've already tested the RTSP .mov stream with VLC Player but also get an error message there.

The Windows Media stream I've downloaded with NetTransport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/NetXFer-Saving-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-streaming-to-hd.htm). Comparing the two streams Windows Media and Real Media (both same file size) the Real one from Archivio Storico Luce looks obviously better.

Still wondering why the Quicktime stream isn't working?

Few web-sites use RTSP .mov, so stream recorders have weak support of such streams.

Well, I'd been curious about why that specific "QuickTime" RTSP stream couldn't be downloaded, and after some tests, I can tell you for sure that "any" streams downloaders will do it, because one simple reason:

RTSP/1.0 404 Not Found

That means, such video is not there, so there is nothing allowing to be downloaded. :D

MovRecorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-quick-time.htm#MovRecorder) allows to capture RTSP .mov streams. So if you can watch it, there is a chance that you will be able to capture it.
