I tried to record with Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) and didn't have any problems with it

I recorded a progressive HTTP stream. Such streams are buffered, so you may need to clear the cache of your web-browser before recording. Or you may use the Video History Tool of Replay Media Catcher.

HTTP streams are very easy to download. You can even copy them fromthe cache of your web-browser:

I've tried a video from megavideo. It was an HTTP .flv stream as well.

I tried
"http://www.animecrazy.net/fullmetal-alchemist-episode-11/"
from animecrazy.net and it appeared to be an RTMPE stream.
You can download RTMPE streams:
RTMPE stream recording/downloading/capturing/ripping/saving

Or you can just download the video from megavideo via HTTP protocol.

RTMPE streams are no longer supported by Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm):
